 		Yeah, that's true.
Since Craiglist is already deleted, and beeing essencial for the ARG story, they need us as the Very-Well-Informed-People, otherwise the story could be lost in all the time.

i am chilld out and i do respect the views of other players maby it is can but i have a good set of cans and iv'e listened to it many time diddent want to sound mad/pi**es off at all just puting my point accross that im about 99.9% sure its cam thats all sorry if it ddden't come accross that way

 		More thoughts on the audio, the trailer, and camera

After listening to the clip until I can't get it out of my head, I would agree that it doesn't sound as much like "can" as "cam/kam."

These are some of my observations as of today—give me an hour or so and no doubt they'll change, but I think the audio clip involves at least three persons:

#1, (perhaps Josh), has presumably asked the proprietor/clerk a question, but before it's answered, #1 says to some unknown person(s): "Sorry, didn't see him back with me."

I don't understand what can be inferred by that comment if what I hear is accurate. Last night before the sandman blasted me, I thought this (aforementioned line) over again, and wondered, "what would prompt #1 to say that, and to whom could he be speaking?"

How about this scenario: #1 has asked #2 a question about the availability of the item in question. #2 goes away from the counter to check/ask someone else. #1 busies himself looking at something else and is distracted, not noticing that #2 has returned. A person in line, perhaps Mysterio, taps #1 on the shoulder, wherein #1 looks up to see #2 standing in front of him. #1 says to Mysterio, "Sorry, didn't see him (#2) back with me." Perhaps things then proceed as follows.

#2, (perhaps the proprietor/clerk): "We had any they'd be on the shelf."

#1: "Blue cam/kam, lion/lyin'/flyin' on it—you think there's any in back now?"
When #1 says (what sounds like) "Blue cam/kam" it's quite pronounced and clear (whatever is meant), and does sound more like it ends with an "m" rather than an "n" sound (after more listening than I care to admit), and there is a brief pause before the "lion/lyin'/flyin'" phrase, and I'm inclined to think it is not the word "line," for to my ears it sounds like two syllables, rather than one.

#2, Either he shakes his head, or in a low voice, says, "No," (or does both).

#1: "OK, then sorry."

I feel the bottom line, again, is to prove to Josh that Mysterio has done what he/she claimed in the last e-mail to Josh—found him, which would be pretty creepy and get anyone's attention.

As far as the blue colored camera that you linked to, that's an interesting find, but the camera appears to pre-date the Super 8 cameras.

Regarding the footage in the trailer being on the STIES Super 8 film, I don't see it (unless you're referring to the odd frames interspersed throughout the trailer. The trailer has numerous angles that would seem difficult/impossible for one Super 8 camera to capture: night time long shot of the valley with train and truck in the distance; close-up of train cars flashing by; truck approaching and heading for the train, etc.

As far as the link to the underwater blue camera, that's very interesting, and at two pounds would conceivably fit easily on a shelf. Josh's last posting indicated that it was an aquarium that he was interested in; not that he wouldn't be interested in a remote camera that could track his elusive prey. (He'd obviously have to obtain the coelacanth before he could house it in an aquarium—even though he somehow isn't aware that that hasn't been done, or if it even could be!). But he is one determined young man, so who knows.

 		Its also possible that Mysterioso is referring to finding Josh easily on the internet when Josh posted asking for verification on that Scifi site and the recording could be unrelated to both?

Very true, but early on, at some point they linked up and (presumably) chose to communicate further through the PDP console. At that point ("Quit posting"), already indicated that he had located him on the internet. The subsequent "Take down the listings" comment further proved Mysterio knew how to find him on the internet. To me, it just seems plausible that the mp3 file was there to prove to Josh that, "Hey, I know where you physically are; I could harm you, but don't worry, I'm on your side—in fact, I'm working on a way to find your father."

Just my take on it (today).

 		Beaulieu is a French manufacturer that made Super 8 cameras in the 1970s. I think the French pronunciation of Beaulieu sounds something like bowlew. Could the voice be saying Beaulieu cam? Just another thought to throw into the mix.

Just had a new idea on what's going on, maybe it's a lost and found?

I haven't listened through headphones but reading some of the recent posts gave me this idea of what's happening

The first voice has just looked in the lost property room for something but hasn't found it, he tells the person looking for it "Sorry I didn't see it back there"

The next voice is perhaps a supervisor, they tell the person looking for the item "If we had any they'd be on the shelf". Basically saying if they had any (of the lost item) the person who looked would have found it "back there"

The third voice is the person looking for the item describing it "Blue cam, lion on it, you think there's any in back?" as if the description will prompt their memories.

The first or second voice replies "No"

The person looking then gives up with "Ok then, sorry"

So to me it sounds like someone has lost a blue camera with a lion on the side (teams logo), he checks the lost property office to see if it has turned up, but he's told the camera hasn't been found (possibly stolen to try and recover the film of the beastie). The conversation is recorded by people (government?) trying to find what happened to the film, they probably took/stole the camera but found the film had already been removed.

Not 100% sure but it's a idea which hasn't been mentioned before (I don't think Confused )

 		I wonder how Mysterioso knows "they are looking in the wrong place" for Josh and also knows who 'they' are and how to keep track of them..

This can be taken to mean that there is a 'they' who must not be the good guys and that they are looking for Josh for some reason, we assume because of the items he has uncovered and tried to sell on CL amongst others..

I suppose, if Mysterioso IS the one putting these files on the PDP-11 desktop, this latest audio MP3 could be an example of how Mysterioso secretly taped 'them' looking for Josh in the wrong place, since whomever it is on the tape leaves emptyhanded..
Many possible scenarios here..
Cant wait for the game to start.

Mysterio writes, "I think something may have reactivated. Need to make sure we're still alone."

By "alone," I would assume that Mysterio is not suggesting a physical location, but that their communiques are private.

When Mysterio uses the term "reactivated" it would imply that "something" that had one time been "inactive" was now "active" once more.

The "something" could very well be what Melodyman said, "can be taken to mean that there is a 'they' who must not be the good guys and that they are looking for Josh for some reason..." The use of the term "something" could relate to an organization, or specialized covert group, set upon obtaining the STIES evidence.

But for all you IT people, hackers, etc., perhaps you can answer a few questions for me.

1. Could the "something...reactivated" be some form of computer software (on the order of google's crawler) that scours the net for specific terms such as "authenticate something"; "conspiracy related verifications"; "footage"; "red pill-box hat"; etc?

I know that "No Such Agency" has this capacity, but if the "they" that "are looking in the wrong place" were some organization that high on the food chain, in addition to knowing where Josh is, I think they'd know the number of times he goes to the bathroom (including how many times he's "one-ing it, or two-ing it), whether he tried on his mother's green floral dress, or likes Diet Pepsi better than regular.

2. Do sophisticated hackers have some degree of this computer ability that would enable them to find someone (who is not fictitious)?

If the "they" Melodyman references is not some op unit (or they're not concerned with Josh, or don't possess the aforementioned software), and only Mysterio knows he/she's looking in the right place, it would seem that he/she's got an "in" somewhere that the "they," or Joe Q. Public, doesn't possess or choose to use.

Trout me if you must, but an anagram for Lillian Ohio is; Hail Lion Oil. So, a blue can of lion oil, maybe their logo is a lion! So I snooped around on google and I found a possible IG site; www.lionoil.com. The pics on the site look very industrial like on the set pics. looks like they specialize in oil, gas, and asphalt.
