[OT] Random things that remind you of MH, EMH, etc. not really related, but kinda related anyway Recently I got a cd by Novelle Vague. they're a french band that covers classic pop songs. They covered The Killing Moon, which was originally by Echo and the Bunnymen.

Lyrics:
Quote:
Under blue moon I saw you
So soon youll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine
Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him
In starlit nights I saw you
So cruelly you kissed me
Your lips a magic world
Your sky all hung with jewels
The killing moon
Will come too soon
Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him
Fate
Up against your will
Through the thick and thin
He will wait until
You give yourself to him
Under blue moon I saw you
So soon youll take me
Up in your arms
Too late to beg you or cancel it
Though I know it must be the killing time
Unwillingly mine
Honestly, I can't hear the song now without thinking of Him . It didn't help that I first heard the Novelle Vague version while I was on a camping trip. Things that are not scary in daylight suddenly become much more so when you're walking down a road in the woods at 3 am to get to a latrine. The fakest Slenderman picture can seem like a omen of your future.
Anyway, my question is this: what things have you seen that seem as though they were created with Slender Man in mind, even though (considering time as only going in one direction) they could not have been.

This was a tree on my college campus last semester. I took the picture with my phone, so it's poor quality.
The tree is normally painted to advertise events and student organizations, but I really have no idea what that was advertising, haha.

So I saw the attached spraypainted on the pavement literally outside a pub. It really got me thinking.

I saw this on a pavement and had to snap it.

See, I have ... different ... associations with that.

Eww, that sounds uncomfortable. Fuzzy handcuffs are better, trust me.

Has anyone ever read the Dionaea house blogthing? I can't find the link again or I'd post it here. It's mostly based around House of Leaves, but with all the connections between HoL and Slendy already...

Forgot about that, read it so long before I read HoL I never made the connection. Good read though.

Indeed. X3 I actually haven't read HoL yet myself--a friend had to explain to me the basis and all the connections. When I first read Dionaea, the first thing I thought of was Slendy.

When I first finished reading it (and that Cave Explorer one, I think it the guy's name was Ted or something) I hated the anticlimax. With DH though it's for the better, any explanation wwouldn't be good enough and it would lose the creepy air of mystery. That connected bloc (maybe it was a lj, too long ago to remember) started on semi-explaining it, but it sounded a bit lame.
Though the Cave Explorer one left SOOOOO much unanswered that I'm still mad about that one.

I loved Ted's Cave Explorer! That ending was perfect for it. You can automatically assume what happened and he pretty much stated what he thought it was in the 9th page. IMO it was a good creepy story.

Half-Life 2 reminds me of Slenderman
Well, to be more specific, G-man does.

The trailer for 'The Last Exorcism' (which, personally, I don't think looks very good) has a part in the beginning where the camera goes static-y and I immediately started looking for Slenderman in the background.

I live on a street that gets deserted at night except for the occasional creepy people that will walk around at midnight. My street has failing lights which add to it too. I also live near a playground thats creepy as hell at night like in entry #4.
