soup her ate

I'm wondering if there isn't anything else hidden in the Kodak sign. If you ignore the small R in cameras it turns into "came as" so if could be "[they?] came as spekers, super 8"

Still I can't see why the A in speakers is small or how stereos fit into this...

It could possibly be a reference to stereo meaning two, so two aliens came. There's also a space probe called STEREO but that was launched this decade. Also there is a film called stereo about telepaths.

Or it could all mean nothing Confused

or...it could all mean something, as far as the little 'a', from my experience there are always some things that are put in just to throw you off the game, so to speak.

Excuse me folks but why are we trying to find clues in photos taken by local film fans in "Lillian" who are not involved with the creation or execution this ARG?

Also, we know that the train wreck will occur in ficticious Lillian Ohio, but Josh seems to be somewhere in West Virginia.. Looking for bus lines in "Lillian" seems a bit off course..

ARE YOU SERIOUS?

it's wrong to look for informations in the fictional world the film crew created?

so its better in future to avoid also pictures from conventions

no more nice looking rocketpop selling PinUp Girls for us to watch folks Sad

I think, it would be cool, if the movie makers - who are surely working separately from ARG team - would place some hints for us. Since hint placing in Star Trek ARG was very usual thing, but mixing reality and decorations would bring more dimensions into the story. Like this "soup her ate" they wrote, I am sure, they did it not for their colleauges, but for us. (I hope at least, they could be so smart, and I think, they are, lol)

Kosmopol;

As cool as what you suggested would be, if the the "soup her ate" reference is left as is, and a brief shot of it is included in the movie, it would seem more like the brief Slusho reference in Star Trek; something that fans following the ARG would recognize, but may just mean nothing to the "normal" moviegoers once it is released--much like an Easter egg. Laughing

And it wouldn't surprise me if other references to RP, Josh, the Minkers, coelacanth(s), and maybe even Mysterio end up as brief Easter eggs, if they are not central themes. Wink

Yes, I also hope for references of this ARG in the movie. I am actually sure about it, since there were always such allusions. The only thing about "soup her ate" is, this is rather the self-reference to the movie (if the movie will have this title). And as far as I understand, JJ tries to avoid such direct meta-references in his movies (but sometimes there are another self-references, like in the LOST ARG there were a picture of a bomb (or was it rocket?) with "LOST" on its case).

Odd allusions

Good comments, Kosmopol (or should I say Cozmopol?), recall when Josh posted a comment from, was it Gordon(?), where as part of the comment where was an allusion to supereight (or Cool?

That was strange--it's hard to believe that that was an accident, and not intentional in some way.

EDIT: Look at this one too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3IZ_RVsn_U&feature=related, again they are shooting at the sky.

Bullets in the air?
Not very smart ...

This question has been bugging me since the first video appeared ...

After watching all those videos, and talking with people on this subject ...
It has been questioned whether these vids may be some sort of ruse, or faked to get our attention.

Firing your gun into the air has been deemed illegal in many nations.
Even the police no longer fire warning shots into the air!

"When a bullet is shot into the sky where does it go?"
random Internet user wrote:
"What goes up, must come down." And yes, a bullet shot straight up into the air has been known to come back down with enough force to penetrate someone's skull. It's for this reason that so many cities have banned the firing of live ammunition on New Year's Eve...people think it's safe to fire their weapons into the air, not realizing that when the bullet comes back down to earth someone could be in it's path. You've heard of "terminal velocity"?what's known as terminal velocity is when a bullet fired straight up will slow down, stop, then fall to earth again, accelerating until it reaches a point where its weight equals the resistance of the air. That's its terminal velocity.A .30 caliber bullet will perforate the skin at only 124 feet per second. But, one falling at 300 feet per second could kill you, especially if it struck you in the head.

Whatever the army is firing at, MUST be directly above their heads!!
And, if they miss, a bullet (or bullets) would come back to earth.

Duh

I'm not talking about reality reality ...
I'm talking about the reality in the film!

Even solders are smart enough not to fire straight up ... Therefor, my speculation (if the scenes are not a fake distraction) is that whatever they are shooting at MUST be directly over their heads!

Oh, ... I already said that.

Film is set in late 70s, not very many people educated about shooting into the air during that time.

The one thing that does bug me is that one of the first "behind" the scenes moves we've had, shows tracer rounds going up.... and there is not any 'blank' rounds that can give that kind of an effect (that I know of) so was the production crew unsafely firing tracer rounds up or was the effect added after the fact and if so... how much really is that one "behind the scenes"?
