Would that money be to the tune of twenty dollars, perchance?
I'm sorry, I've gone so long without using the twenty dollars meme that I had to break my drought.

"No, Jon. You are the Slender."

And then Jon was a Slender.

So I went through and watched all the videos. In the last video I counted nods to Marble Hornets (self-moving swingchair) and TribeTwelve (wandering around in the dark with a knife threatening to shank Slendy). I've kinda grown accustomed to that voice of his now, but my god was it ever infuriating at first.
I like how subtle a lot of the fear building has been so far though.

To be honest, I'm not liking this one so far. It has potential, though. The subtlety is a good touch. Methinks this is going to be more like the original "The Haunting", where you never really see the monster, but there is evidence of him.

I loled at "I am documenting this door, it has been just.....pulled open..."

Think I'll be sticking with EMH for now.

It took TribeTwelve a while to figure itself out so I won't immediately say this blows. But so far it is just so, so awkward. I do wonder if we'll eventually get some Slendy action or if he'll always be just out of sight.

You know what would make this series really interesting in its own right?

If we, the viewer, were given the lens of a Weirdness Censor. If the viewer here is yet another of those people who can't see Slendy, and instead we watch as Jon breaks down and slowly (or quickly) loses his sanity.

That'd be interesting.

I found his whole threatening to stab someone in the face funny as hell plus it kinda reminded me of Noah from Tribetwelve stabbing around the bushes outside his house.

I'm kinda with Docjowles, but maybe a little more charitable. I think I'll have to give it a few more entries before I decide whether it's worth sticking with for the long haul.

I like how the kids seem like real people I've known (and been). The static shots, especially the poker game, are very well-composed; I was especially impressed by how the warmth of the interior contrasted with the coolness of the exterior there, but that could've been an artifact of the camera. It was also nice to see the series leading off with something interesting but low-key, while also justifying the presence of cameras in the first place.

(But, to be honest, the idea that somebody breaking into a kid's room in the middle of the night and scattering stuff around could be a merry prank did stretch my disbelief. I am a creaky old geezer, though, so maybe kids today are wandering in and out of each others' houses at all hours. Apparently nobody in the Slenderverse has parents, so social norms could be rather different.)

I'm mixed on the fleeting glimpses of Slendy thus far. If the creators' intent is to suggest that what we've seen could be tricks of the light and imagination, then they've done a great job of suggesting without showing. If they wanted us to have had some unambiguous, if subtle, evidence of himself...well, needs work.

What I don't like is the editing. Walking around outside at night, screen black but for a little splotch of flashlight, is not inherently interesting. Buds having fun at a poker game and singing Lady Gaga badly: not inherently interesting. This stuff is great for building mood, establishing character, and setting up bricks-shitting moments, but you should use just enough of your footage to get the point across and then move on. Or maybe my attention span is just shot.

Here's hoping something really awesome happens in the next couple of videos. I like the characters well enough, and I'm rooting for Jon to hold my interest through the bloody end.

i agree. judging from this character, it would be more interesting to see a character break down and not die from directly slenderman
