Most of it was just a black screen, and the distortions were very poorly done. Didn't even add much to the plot, apart from the fact that Gabe's called the police. Not a very good entry.

Why did Gabriel file the missing persons report on Jon? I can understand not wanting to drag parents into the actual videos, but to not even acknowledge their existence? A bunch of 16-year-olds living alone in these big houses is much more unbelievable than Slenderman himself.

I just don't know what to do with this series. I find myself wanting to root for it really hard, but I have no idea why since it's not really grabbing me. It seems like they might have a good concept lurking in the background, what with the "come save her" and mysterious photograph and all, but they seem to be having trouble building and executing it.

Anybody want to be a mensch and transcribe the comesaveher video, btw? I can't listen to it; whenever I try, my ears revolt. I don't find it scary or creepy, just unbearably annoying.

Sorry about what I said before. The acting is pretty terrible now, and this series hasn't really evolved into anything individual yet. Some of the distorted sections are pretty good and Slenderman ACTUALLY HAS TENTACLES, but other than that there's nothing really of note.

I'm going to have to pass on this one for now. Someone message me if this gets good, but I'm not seeing it happening as of now.

Edit: Saw the most recent one.... Meh, It's creating a slow burn so maybe I'll give it another shot. We'll see what the next video shows. Still not very gung-ho about it though.

I like the story in this series... but absolutely nothing else about it. The actors have very unrealistic personalities (eg. Jon getting mad at Gabe for not believing him... who WOULD believe him?) and the acting itself is fairly bad. My biggest gripe (which has been a problem for me ever since Marble Hornets) is the whole "I'm going to walk around in the dark and wave around a flashlight" thing. Sure, we know it's hard to see in the dark and from a technical standpoint it's hard to make things visible when it's dark outside, but WE CAN'T SEE ANYTHING. Having people walk around in the dark isn't scary, it's just annoying.

Plus everybody seems pretty gung-ho about the tentacles and special effects... I thought they looked like shit.

Shame )=. The story wasn't thought out as well as other Slender-Stories, but at least one of his videos actually scared me, and I haven't been genuinely scared by a Slender-story since Marble Hornets!

I thought it had potential but it somehow went down with every entry that came. I think the guys have something cool coming, but they'd need to really go and write a story first.

Just watched this one to the end.

Thoughts:
- The acting might have been shakey, but I did like it overall. When things got freaky, they got SERIOUSLY FREAKY. The ghost watching him sleep? The slentacle dragging him into the shed? The comesaveher video? The stuff that happens after he's slenderkidnapped in This Didn't Happen? It's all good.
- I quite liked the way they subverted the whole "white text black background" thing with the increasing corruption of the text cards as Jon himself was corrupted.
- Got to agree, after Gabe took over as the protagonist it was a major step back. The last two videos are a pointless reversion to running around in the back yard not seeing anything.

My view? If the thing had just plain ended after the "Goodbye" video it'd be just plain perfect. I know some people might find that anticlimactic, but for me the way Jon acts in it is great - like he's been hollowed out and is being puppeteered by something which only barely understands how to appear human.

I have no idea why you people enjoyed this series. It was absolutely terrible, it was very much a hackjob. And how you people say Jon was such a genuine character, he was not. "I am documenting this door hurr durr", seriously? The dialougue was narmy and sounded forced. The terribly obvious lisp aside, he had some of the worse acting in any Slenderman related video. There was just nothing that drew me in to this one, nothing truly interesting or original that set it aside from the other vlogs. Why the hell are you people so praising of it? The 'come save her' bit really threw me for a loop, especially the fact that he NEVER EXPLAINS IT. If Marble Hornets has presentation, EverymanHybrid has story, and TribeTwelve has effects, what the does this have that sets it aside? Nothing. Nothing but a lisp and the fact that he quitted before attempting to at least redeem the series with a proper ending; he just gave up.

tl;dr = I was very disappointed in this series and don't think it deserves much praise because it did nothing significantly different enough from anything else we've already seen.

Well I already pointed out a few of the things I liked about the series, so I don't know what more you want from me.

Absolutely the acting isn't perfect and the effects aren't up to TT's level, but I do think JC had at least one original aspect - the way people who got Slenderfied would suddenly be all "Hmmm, actually this was all bullshit guys, kindly ignore". It happened to Andrew/markofsirius23 in his comments - he was taking the videos seriously, then after Overnight 2 he was all "THIS IS FAKE NOTHING TO SEE HERE", and then his subsequent comments he switched from a helpful paranormal investigator persona to a totheark style character. That was nice foreshadowing for "Goodbye".

The ghost character also seemed new and interesting, but I guess they didn't have much of a chance to develop that. Since the ghost seemed vaguely feminine in appearance I thought that she was a soul that was trapped in some kind of Slender purgatory which Jon was being called on to rescue. They could have worked on the effects though - her appearance in Overnight 2 was fine, but the shot of her walking through the woods in This Didn't Happen was a bit too fakey for me.

The lisp isn't a big deal for me. Some people have them. Does that mean they're not allowed to act or be creative? Seems like kind of a dumb thing to be prejudiced about to me.

@Elizibar - Their quitting message on Slender Nation blamed technical issues, I'm prepared to take them at their word to be honest. Yes, there was harsh criticism of the post-Goodbye videos, but the thing had been getting criticism since the start and they didn't let it stop them.

And to be honest, I don't think people should hold back from criticism; if people don't want the audience to say bad things about their work, they shouldn't toss their work out for everyone to see, and people can't improve without feedback. And the criticism of the post-"Goodbye" videos to my mind was very justified; after the craziness leading up to Goodbye reverting to running around with torches not seeing anything seemed like a hugely regressive step. I liked the bit in the second Saturday Night video where it seemed like Slendy was walking around in their house on the ceiling, but other than that they don't have anything to recommend them.

Maybe they'd have had a chance to improve on that if the series had continued, but as it stands it seems like the series took a huge leap back.
