The only things I saw that could tie the movie into the ARG is

1) Train station, Neo goes out one side and comes in the other (a stretch, but there it is)

2) The possibility that the ARG takes place AFTER Revolutions and will lead up to the MMUORPG. Once Revolutions is over people who want out can get out without having to worry about agents - and I'm assuming that those who are out can come into the Matrix for a Steak if they want - LOL. What happens if we look at the world of Beth and Dina and Scratch and Caesar in that light?

Or maybe it was the monocle? Wink (sorry, I had to say that Smile )

I just saw Revolutions too, and my opinion mostly is like smile's:

it had the flaws that Reloaded had, however it is still an entertaining film - but if you are a huge fan like myself, I left the cinema a little disapointed

Mostly disappointed plot-wise though, because the visuals and especially the sound was SO terrific... when I see this movie on DVD, I think I have to ask my neighbours to leave for a couple of hours... Smile

I sat through the entire end-titles btw, just to see if there would be ANY remarks ARG-wise, but, as I (and everyone?) expected, there were none.

I've just got back from seeing it, I don't want to say too much except the sun is still shining at the end.

I too can now read this spoiler thread, having taken time off work to enjoy the movie.

Great action, great visuals, a modest amount of sappy romance, and not nearly enough explanation!

I'll go see it again next weekend. Look for the Tasty Wheat billboard in the subway.

Much better than Reloaded, but never as good as the first. Was it all necessary?

But, I liked it. I am happy with it.

And would you stay in, or be free in the real world?

I will now set myself on fire.

OK, ok, I'm just staying away from this thread for a while.

You could take a vacation in the matrix!

well i guess others only hinted at it and ill be the first to blatantly say that this movie sucked. i was horribly let down.

and please god correct me and force me to have somehow enjoyed it .. but...

the machines didnt REALLY need neo at the end, not enough to lay down arms in the war. they could shut down the matrix. lose the crops. clone some more and start anew. no big deal. but instead they pointlessly let this fight happen... (the balancing was cool)...

i dunno... and i hated the 45 minutes thru the movie w/o neo. they should have found some way to splice the scenes back and forth.

walked out of the theatre w/ the biggest feeling of dissapointment. horrible end. horrible little conclusion w/ the exile seemingly acting as a normal 'sky' program still... (as an exile?)... and w/ them still being alive... ridiculous.

and think about it... if anyone jacks in.. wont they be like 'spies' inthe matrix kinda going against the peace by disrupting the peace of the matrix.... the war's just gonna start again.
then you're just gonna get some hippy neo world activists saying that the matrix is a violation of human rights... and you know what hippies do when they have a cause.....

pretty anticlimactic w/ trinity dying... and miraculously they crash 5 feet from where he needs to be. and so much talk of Providence and miracles, and yet they don't bring god into this more..? (let me say that im a proud atheist) but bringing God in would have made the Fate thing but still having choice so much cooler.....

wb coulda did a lot better w/ this script. they rushed it. they let this fan down.

I saw all kinds of "god" in there. The end of one of the incarnations of Buddha. The ascent of Christ. Possibly even Demiurge (though not sure on that one). Definitely the antithesis. My god, the Revelation to John. Finally, that girl, Sati
[EDIT]And that thing with spikes that Neo talks to - even when I saw it in the trailer, I thought it was the Bros' modern, noiresque rendering of an image of a sun-god [EDIT]

Funny thing is - what was the "slogan" for Revolutions? "Everything that has a beginning has an end." When I first read/heard it, I couldn't believe it - I thought it was the boldest statement the Bros made yet - something that finally gives out their stance on at least SOME cosmological and (therefore?) theological issues. Lol, there is no end... I still firmly believe there is a spoon, though Mr. Green

[edit] Yeah, I knew I was going to change my mind in five minutes, and I did. Never mind...I'm so mixed about this film that I think I need to wait a while before I can really judge it. Also need to see it again...Very Happy Sorry, I might as well just delete this post now...

I sat in the theatre for 20 minutes after it was over muttering to myself. I couldn't decide if I liked it or not, but 15 hours (including some sleep) led me to where I'm at now, where I'm still wow'd by the special effects, and the sound, and although all my questions werent resolved clearly yet, It gave me a lot to think about, which I always consider a good thing, and I didn't scream 'wtf' afterwords, so thats a good sign. I couldn't help but think of the quote (common in the graffiti scene) in the land of the blind the one eye'd man is king- and althought its a stretch, the opening of neos inner eye of the world (third eye?) after he lost his site reminded me of that.

I was angry he spent so much time with trinity when they crashed, if I felt like I had to 'save the world' I'd probably have forgone some of the lengthy dialogs, etc. But that was outweighed by the edge of my seat action I felt during the part with the mechs and with naobi flying thru the maintence tunnel..

Not so sure - Smith was completely beyond the machines' control, and had been warping the Matrix itself (darkness and rain) - maybe the machines were unable to just shut the Matrix off while Smith had so much power over it. Also, Smith needed to be stopped, because as Bane showed, Smith is not just confined to the Matrix, so he could have been a threat to the machines in the real world too.

Well the war is over - people in the Matrix are going to be told the truth and can leave if they want to - that was what the Architect promised. Some people may stay...

But I can see what you are getting at - I still think that the Matrix should have stood alone without any sequels, but compared to Reloaded, I really liked this.
