Nice job random; how did you do it? thought I tried that, but didn't work...

So how are we going to contact this person on the inside? Can we send him a message using the same code?

The decryption process was:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
put the keyword (in this case lori) in front of the alphabet, removing any repeats. Then, compare each letter of this 'key alphabet' with the normal alphabet. In this case 'L' is our first letter, so we turn all L's in the string into A's and so on. This is a pretty good online tool.

Still have no clue how to contact them or what to put in the "search box"
And a convenient tweet update as I was writing this.
Quote:
Lori here. I feel better now. I have been moved and still have computer access, thanks to one of the men who has been guarding me.
I'm in a more comfortable room now and they are not drugging me and tying me up as much. I have a little more freedom here, but think we are
far out in the country. I was drugged as I was being put into the car and it was daylight. When we arrived it was dark. I woke up but
pretended to still be asleep. Managed to see many trees and perhaps a huge house. Think we might be in the country. One of the men guarding
me just gave me a tissue with this written on it in tiny print: 3:00
I think he might be trying to help me, which is both hopeful and terrifying.

So this might be the man on the inside?

EDIT: and the main site http://iwascharlottebronte.com/ was updated again. Clicking on three o'clock brings you to another page
EDIT2: That page solves to
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Lori is safe for now in London

The new picture is from 2007, when repairs took place in mid August of the year on Big Ben.

Article with information here: http://marketplace.publicradio.org/display/web/2007/08/17/big_ben_silenced_for_repairs/

EDIT: I assume this means someone figured out the password for the last page? Please come forth to claim your glory!

Who, exactly, is the mind behind iwascharlottebronte.com ? Theories?

Yeah, double post. Lori tweets:

Quote:
i suddenly feel very sick and dizzy and scared. i wish i was stronger. when is this going to end? help me please somebody tell me what to do (~ 0730 UK time = GMT +1 [daylight])

This is Lori. I might have been dreaming but I thought I heard clocks chiming seven times a little while ago. A whole roomful of clocks... (approx same time)

That puts her in London / on British Daylight time, whatever it's called. So although I'm on GMT -10 (Hawaii), I'm 11 hours behind London since we don't do DST in the tropics. Whatever. Just rationalizing my confusion. She's in the UK time zone and London is a good bet.

iwascharlottebronte.com also updated. If you click on the seven, you get a quote with various bolded letters. They are:

Solid solve, RandomGuy. Such an awesome twist. One anagram of the bolded letters is: TELL SISTER TO STOP TRAVEL

If that's the correct one reasoning with Sylvie will be an uphill battle imo.

maybe if we all tell her to not go? she does seem stubborn, too bad we can't contact her mother she may have some pull over her daughter

This is really turning into a 'who do you trust' even more than it was originally. Leonard? WTF? we're supposed to trust one of the captors? That casts doubt on Lori, doesn't it? I know I can trust G because he's dead. Hell, I think we should encourage Sylvie to go.

Yeah, I suspect a lot of this is off the cuff, and believe me it can be hard to keep track of all the threads. So one option is that there are about four layers of lies going on, while another is that we're supposed to gloss over the evil villains that are so stupid they give Lori access to a computer. I mean, I know s/he is a sick twisted Mwa-ha-ha-ha, but still, I'd control information if it was me that was the villain. I trust the PM(s) quite a bit at this point, esp. their ability to weave mistake backfixes into the story and to keep us moving the right direction, But I do have to avert my eyes occasionally.

Also, even if the anagram is correct and the inside man is trustworthy, believe.leaving a blog comment is atm indiscreet
Just to cover all our bases sent a cautious test email to iamontheinsideSPLATgmail.com which hasn't bounced back yet.

I rather agree. For me, though, since this is the first ARG I've ever played, I'm pretty willing to let a few things slide. Smile Particularly since the puzzle-solving hasn't been ridiculously difficult.

just a thought on where our Laura is now being held...not sure whether to spoiler or not as it is a bit of a wild guess, but have done just in case. happy to edit if the general consensus is not to bother.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the royal observatory, greenwich (ROG). we know almost certainly that laura is still in london, and her description of what she saw on leaving the car she was moved in suggests a more leafy and green part. that suggests to me either the suburbs or one of the many large parks. couple that with the description of a large building or house, surrounded by trees, and we might be in greenwich park. of course, that's a fairly huge leap...but then when you consider all the clock and time related clues and the fact that the ROG is full of rooms full of clocks, which she would clearly hear chiming all together?

more interestingly - given the discussion on sylvie's travelling, should we share this possible hiding place with her?

interesting comments on who we can trust as well. we've had a number of clues that laura has been kept in the dark about things in the past, and that her mother and alex may both not be entirely innocent about what's happening. and personally, i never trusted G and still don't, even if he is meant to be dead Smile

Well, since we've been warned/suggested to tell Sylvie to stop in her traveling, it might be better at this time to withhold the guess. However, what about telling Laura, through twitter, for example? That might help her personally to orient herself (and then us). I don't think "Leonard" is keeping tabs on her computer activities.

Also, twitter update:

Leonard came to see me a little while ago and said we are leaving here. He said they want to keep us moving. I'll write again when I can.

coincidence that laura is moving, or do you think that maybe the royal observatory was correct and our pm reads the board? Smile
