Seems like a good reason to destroy the artifact after that last clip. Initially it was just a idea to destroy it, possibly break the link it has over Zach. Something to tell Zach really.

That last archive however tells me sealing it up with concrete isn't enough, not sure how we destroy it but I wouldn't be surprise if there is an auto-destruct within the complex somewhere. Definitely reminds me of Lost.

Plus with got the Hooded Man to contend with and Binary Hangman to solve.

Awesome solve BTW Seyelback!!!

The artefact does indeed seem to be a little on the dangerous side...so now we know what's causing Zach's problems but he's too far gone to be able to act. Oh the irony. Laughing

Why hasn't Dr. Cavendish lost his mind though?

Maybe he didn't have any imagination! A rock perhaps.

The last blog (19) shows Zach a little better, he had some sleep at least.

Although I to admit his description of the drums sounds like something out of Dr. Who and the Master (USA residents might not get the reference).

The binary hangman might have the "key" we should have used to decipher the text, considering it was there before the message I decoded.

The key to decipher was s, t, k. These are also the names of the variables that give us the number 719 (s) 332 (t) 1320 (k). So I think they are related. I do not know how to go from the event log interferences to stk and the telephone number thing, though Confused

If the result to the event interferences are these 3 letters, then the answer might be in the binary missing minus 2 digits, as we would need 24 instead of 26. Maybe the first and the last? I was trying to solve it "backwards" but still no luck. I have that s = 01010011 t=01010100 and k=01001011 but I have not found how that binary relates to the interferences. Of course, they might be unrelated. If that is the case, the stk clue to decode the message should have appeared somewhere else. *we need a thinking emoticon*

EDIT: Maybe the solution is to give the artifact to the hooded guy. Maybe is his and that is why he keeps going around, maybe the artifact is trying to find him and releases some negative whatever that affect humans. It might be the case that in order to be safe he needs to take back to whenever this pyramid. What happened in the vid, the first one? Did he take it?

I got it, (That is, if we're thinking of the same Doctor Who.) and liked it. You have to be some kind of awesome to not only create your own personal apocalypse, but to set it to music as well. Laughing

If the whole place has been filled with cement, then the artifact will be completely inaccessible. I don't know how we could destroy it, if that's the case.

I'm not so sure about giving Hoodie the artifact. It's not too far off to say that he's the shadow in Zach's dreams that calls himself the Destroyer, among other things. If the artifact can to that much by itself, imagine what it would do in the hands of somebody who know how to use it.

WOAH, great going, amigos!! You're doing fabulous things in here. Very Happy

I think we ought to ask Zach, personally. If the artifact has some kind of hold over him we might be able to figure out what to do with it by asking Zach that very question... even if what we choose happens to be the opposite of what he tells us to do.

I'm seconding the auto-destruct sequence somewhere inside the compound. The Sentinel system is still up and running somehow, so there's gotta be a "f#@k-all button" encoded somewhere!

Has anyone tried dialling the number yet?

Me too. Might give it a try later on a '2p per minute' number if none of our US friends has already done so.

Email from Zach

Email I sent him:

Quote:
Zach,

You need to speak to Karen and ask if she get some sleeping pills (ones that cause dreamless sleep) for you. That way you can finally get some sleep.

Don't whatever you do go near the guy with the Red Eyes or some sort of hooded cloak. He isn't some sort of Middle Ages Reenactor compared to the Men in White he is about 1000 times worst.

We are working on a way destroy the artifact remotely.

If you are up to it can you please ring the following number: 719-332-1320. We think that it contains clue to opening the bunker.

Try and avoid looking at guy's eyes, he messing with your head. When you are dreaming think of the time and place you were most happy, imagine yourself there. Build a brick wall around yourself, think only of a solid brick wall.

His Reply:

Quote:
sleep - without dreams. Yes - that would be so good.

what are you talking about? The eyes I see in my dreams? I thought that was my dreams. Are you saying that is real? Its not a dream? I'm so confused.

what is this number? Can they help me?

I just called that number - it says something about a sentinal key or something and then just repeats some strange words. What is this? Are you working for them? Why did you make me call that number? Who are you really?

Looks like the number is real, just need our American cousins to ring it.

I just dialled the number...it is a computer voice saying 'Sentinel Control Network' and something else I couldn't make out...then it invites you to leave a voicemail message.

If anyone else from the UK wants to try, call 08442009090 then enter 0017193321320# and the call is 0.5p per minute.

I called it too. I've been trying to get what it's saying and the best I can come up with is 'Repeat Sierra Tango...Kihilo?' Yeah, I'm not too sure what that K word is, but those words represent the three letters used to get this number, isn't it? Now the question is, what should we leave as a voice message...

Edit: Woah... Event Log page is new, improved and more swirly than ever. Also Cloaky shows off what happens when you get in his way. Shocked

Regarding the message for the phone number, perhaps, "This is SENCON37 (or Field Team 1) reporting in, please respond with further instructions regarding containment protocol."

I can do that this afternoon if you want! Unless of course there's somebody who can actually record their message, in which case they ought to go for it.

Also, it looks like we're losing Zach's trust on this one... I'm gonna send him an email, reassure him that we're on his side.

On a more meta note, does anybody else think this looks like an independent ARG? It'd be pretty cool if so, I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything (as I said, first ARG, newbie, etc etc).

Thought... you think there's any way to get Karen involved in this? Maybe she could help us to figure out what's going on at the bunker since she's probably not as sensitive as Zach to whatever's going on out there. As someone mentioned earlier, she's possibly just a trout (lol) but I can't help but look at the Diagnostic Report page and wonder what would happen if every status bar was in the red... and I'm not sure we can accomplish that remotely.

The new event log looks like Morse Code to me.
