Gotta say, I'm getting pretty stoked about this whole thing.
Looks like the fenced-in area is government property? The only thing I can make out on the first sign is "No unauthorized access restricted area" and the rest is too blurry to read.
There are a couple of things about the Bogart films he mentioned that might tie in to the connections already made, but they're mostly superficial and stretches at the best. In looking up H.P. Lovecraft, however, I read that he moved to New York City with his wife and initially loved it there, but eventually became deeply disenchanted with the city and moved back to a more rural area. Sound familiar?
Hopefully I'll get a response to my email soon...

Nice to link to Lovecraft's life there Muse.
There is two signs stating:
1. No Unauthorized Access Restricted Area No (becomes unreadable)
2. 'US Property No Trespassing'
Remember he said something about a military base near by. There is an Air Force north of the City, a little northwest of Jacksonville. To the east of the base is a lake called PickThorne Lake could possibly be the lake in his previous blog.
Have to ask him next time he replies. I asked him in my previous email whether he came here because of family or was just a random pin in the map.
Edit: Scratch the PickThorne lake doesn't look right on Google Maps. Ah the wonders of streetview

This is what happens when you don't read your email first Here's Zach reply:
Quote:
No, Actually I grew up in a small town in Ohio but I came to New York to got to school and just stayed afterwards. I enjoyed it there but maybe I was always a small town guy in my heart.
Interesting comment on glasses and auras. No, I am near-sighted but not badly which is probably why the lenses don't look too much like lenses. I like the retro look of the old Buddy Holly style glasses. I have a pair of sunglasses - also perscription - that look the same pretty much. Interesting though about the glasses and the shadows. I do tend to see the shadows more with them off, but I think that's because with my vision a little blurry it is easier to defocus on what is really there.
Abosultely no idea what that box was. There seem to be all kinds of things left over in the woods around here. Like that old facility I posted about today. Looks like there used to be a lot more going on around here once. And yes, the location was pretty much closing my eyes and throwing a dart at the map. I wanted something different than where I had been living or where I grew up - a clean start.
I wonder if his current location is not as important as we think it is, perhaps we should be concentrating more on him.
The only question he didn't answer was about his parents.

Don't open that door! So he found some old facility and is going to go inside to explore? Two rules we all learned from horror movies: 1.) don't split up and 2.) don't go see what's behind the door (or gate in this case). LOL!

Lol, SO true!!

I guess you could say I'm sort of retired right now. No family, no kids, I didn't spend a lot of money so I've got some in the bank. Good thing, too, I'm really not up for a regular job just yet. Maybe in a while...
I have no clue what the box could be, or even what's in the box. But I think it shows that there was once stuff happening even out here in the country. It looks like all farms and woods and stuff now, but there seems ot have been more here once. Like that fence around...something...I found today.
There is a military base not too far in the nearby town of Pine Bluff . I think they do some weapons research or production. Some of the locals like to tell stories about secret work being done there. One guy even said they had aliens there like the supposed Area 51 out west. He was smiling a bit at the time so I'm pretty sure he was just having a little fun at the expense of the new guy from the city. I'm sure nothing so mysterious goes on there - just bombs and bullets I suppose.
I'll try to remember my dreams . I haven't been able to remember them for a while, but maybe that will change with time out here in the country.
thanks for writing!

I asked him about this dreams and was provided with the usual news-speak of useless info:
Quote:
Funny thing about my dreams - I really haven't been trying to think about them since my troubles. Lately I've been having some dreams again but it's the kind where you wake up and it's just almost there but you can't remember it? Like you know you forgot something but you don't remember what it was? Just some vague sense of something there. Something dark, but I can't remember anything more than that. Not sure I want to.

Another response here too:

Hi Cortez,
Close - Pine Bluff. I'm in the wilderness not too far away (well, I call it the wilderness - just farms and woods).
The trails are just in the woods around here. I've been driving around looking for places to walk. Now I'm biking instead - just exploring the area. It's great to be out on the country roads all by myself. That's why I was so surprised to find this old facility. I wonder if it was ever connected with Pine Bluff? Looks like it hasn't been used for quite a while.
That would make the military base he passed Pine Bluff Arsenal:
http://www.pba.army.mil/
and Wikipedia...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pine_Bluff_Arsenal
They make and store some nasty stuff there.
Which in turn puts him living somewhere to the north or northwest of the town itself, given that he passes it on the way home from town.

I asked him about the lake in his blog:
Quote:
That wasn't a lake - just a place where the river widens a bit. Not actually sure what the name of it is.
The river widens near a dam north of the base. Lots of farms round there.

Just read a report which states that Pine Bluff was developed by Bush as a prisoner of war camp for the detention of up to 40,000 US citizens in preparation for possible national civil unrest in 2008.
http://www.warandpeace.ru/en/exclusive/view/28378/
A biased article but interesting nevertheless.
Pine Bluff Arsenal was also mentioned in David Kelly's report to Tony Blair's government on WMD. It's a major chemical weapons facility in the US.

New video on the channel. It shows the inner gate and a voice with static says
Quote:
Sentinel conroller network. Alert.
Also a sign on the gate says
Quote:
Area secured. Sentinel Control
Can't see the rest of the sign beyond that.

I guess the pace is picking up...
The sign, Gimped a little for clarity. Tried to get a better image of whatever is between the 'This Area Is Secured' and 'Sentinel'...best I could do is pretty poor I'm afraid.

The Story so far So what have we got so far:
An ex-accountant who lost his mind because of what he saw in the shadows, now partially sane because the shrinks convinced him that what he saw wasn't real.
He leaves New York for the middle of nowhere near Pine Bluff not too far from a deserted army base that just happens to have an active security protocol in place that can be picked up by a Video Camera. If it weren't for the sign on the gate saying Sentinel Control I would if said that Zach has brought his Madness along with him.
He said he chose Pine Bluff on blind chance but did he really was his unconscious mind guiding his hand?!? Looks like it.
You know most people would be put off by signs saying Keep Out but Zach wants to explore, quite naive almost child-like. Goes against his previous madness of being scared of shadows. Quite weird if you ask me.

Little extra info on Lovecraft... Lovecraft adapted the pseudonym of "Abdul Alhazred," who later became the author of the mythical Necronomicon. Guess where the couplet comes from:
Quote:
That is not dead which can eternal lie.
And with strange aeons even death may die.
I wonder if Zach has more in his past than he knows...

I sent an email his way asking if there was anything beyond what we could see on that sign. Just waiting on a response.
