 		There's a new event under the Event Log too with today's date...it shows a 'File Corruption Message'.

Any ideas what the letters after the 3 dates stand for?

 		I asked him for her surname, considering the event log from the 16th has the initials KF, I was wondering if the date was a set up to get close to him.

Btw, seadevil, I did not have a change to apologize for my stubborn answer on the pseudonym. When I read Lovecraft, I was told that people mistakenly thought Alhazred was real when he was not. I did not know the pseudonym thing.

Do you think all the "random" topics could have any importance? He has talked about: Bogart films, making bread, the make of his bike, etc.. Confused

As for topics you may have something there although I can't see a pattern as yet. Good idea about the KF initial, perhaps you could ask exactly where the bookstore was.

I noticed on the map that there is Salem not far from Pine Bluff.

 		Well here are my emails from him:

1st Email:
That makes sense. So maybe it is transmitting a signal - I wonder if anyone is still listening anymore though? I'm surprised that there is still functioning equipment there - you saw what it looked like - but I'm not sure it is still staffed. I think I'll keep exploring for now - going to go look around this morning a bit more and then I'm heading into town this afternoon for my date with Karen (yeah me!). I'll try and take some pictures and post them before I head out this afternoon.

If someone does show up out there I'll bet I can easily explain by saying that it just looked abandoned so I didn't think I was bothering anything.

2nd Email:
That's weird. First of all, when I try to go to the web address all I get is a notice saying "access denied". Did you have to do anything special to get to that site you are describing? I'm still wondering if it all just some sort of automated system. What do you mean it has me recorded? Does it list some date or time of some alarm or something?

Heading out now - I'll keep my eyes open though. Thanks!

All I have at the moment.

Despite my unintentional interference earlier, I would like to help. Here are a few things I dug up.
The Haunter in the Dark, another H.P. story. Here's Wiki's plot sumarry:

The story takes place in Providence, Rhode Island and revolves around the Church of Starry Wisdom. The cult uses an ancient artifact known as the Shining Trapezohedron to summon a terrible being from the depths of time and space.

The Shining Trapezohedron was discovered in Egyptian ruins, in a box of alien construction, by Professor Enoch Bowen before he returned to Providence, Rhode Island in 1844. Members of the Church of Starry Wisdom in Providence would awaken the Haunter of the Dark, an avatar of Nyarlathotep, by gazing into the glowing crystal. Summoned from the black gulfs of chaos, this being could show other worlds, other galaxies, and the secrets of arcane and paradoxical knowledge; but he demanded monstrous sacrifices, hinted at by disfigured skeletons that were later found in the church. The Haunter of the Dark was banished by light and could not cross a lighted area.

The Shining Trapezohedron is a window on all space and time. Described as a "crazily angled stone", it is unlikely to be a true trapezohedron because of the Old Ones' penchant for bizarre non-Euclidean angles. It was created on dark Yuggoth and brought to Earth by the Old Ones, where it was placed in its box aeons before the first human beings appeared. After the passing of the Old Ones, during the final stages of the lower Triassic period, the trapezohedron was salvaged from the ruins of their cyclopean cities by the serpent people of Valusia. Eventually, after the bloody extermination of the serpent people at the hands of the advancing pre-human hordes of Lomar, the device found its way into the possession of the primitive men of Lemuria, Atlantis and in later cycles the Pharaoh Nephren Ka of Egypt until at last it was unearthed and brought to New England.

After the death of Robert Blake, who came to grief after discovering the Shining Trapezohedron and deciphering texts about it from ancient evil cults, the artifact was removed from the black windowless steeple where it was found by a Dr. Dexter and thrown into the deepest channel of Narragansett Bay. It was expected to remain there, under the eternal light of the stars, forever; yet, Robert Bloch's sequel, The Shadow from the Steeple, proved that Nyarlathotep had cheated Dexter, forcing him to peer into the stone and actually throw the stone into the bay, where the eternal darkness of the depths gave the Haunter the power to remain perpetually free; it used this power to merge with Dr. Dexter and make him one of the world's leading nuclear scientists-in charge of atomic investigation for warfare.

Could this Shining Trapezohedron be the Artifact? And the bit at the end. If Nyarlathotep is supposed to be inhabiting a nuclear physicist... Well, it is an army base of some kind we're looking at, right?
There are two other stories in the same series, the original story "The Shambler from the Stars" to which Haunter was a sequel, and "The Shadow from the Steeple" which is the third in the series. Both of those are by Robert Bloch.

Oh, and here's the exchange I had with someone or another on the field status screen. Apparently, we both thought we were "talking" to scripted AI. D'oh!
The first question I saw on there was "Who do you work for?" Deciding to play along in hopes of hitting the right keywords to get some information, I responded, "The government." (Not exactly brilliant, I know, but I was just looking for keywords.)

Them-I knew it! What else are you working on.

Them-Tell me more.
At this point, I think I had to leave the computer, so I don't know what might've come after. Just wanted to make sure this wasn't confused with actual story related stuff. Sorry about that. Embarassed
