Tron Blu-Ray Since we have now been advised regarding "Tron Tuesdays" leading up to the release of Tron Legacy, and since Blu-Rays are most often released on Tuesdays, I was wondering if we should be expecting some info on a special edition of Tron on Blu_ray soon. I have heard lots of rumors but no definite specs or release date yet. Would this be something Flynn Lives would be debuting?

although I doubt the quality would be enhanced all that much... I still want it and have been looking all over for some sort of sign or news that it is coming out. This would be welcome news!

i remember reading something from an interview, or maybe a panel from one of the cons, where they talked about a tron blu-ray. they didnt want to change any of the special effects, just greatly improve the color of everything.

The cable channel HDNet broadcast the HD version (presumably what will be on the Tron Blu-Ray) of Tron a couple months back, and a couple times since.
If you were a pirate you could probably find it online, but I wouldn't advocate it.

the one broadcasted on HDnet was fantastic. I can't wait to see what the bluray looks like.

I've been wanting it on Bluray for a while now. I'm not looking for a dramatic color or special effect enhancement, but it'd be nice to have it on Bluray just to have it.

Here's what I have heard from very reliable sources:
Tron (1982 movie) *is* being re-mastered for HD for release to BluRay.
Steve Lisberger himself is working with the team that is remastering it.
Color/tones are being corrected, and the clean up of the film is more extensive than the 20th aniversery DVD.
Original target for release was going to be in November, Disney/Buena Vista may of changed the release date to later...which could be anytime between Decmber 2010 and Feb 2011.

If disney can make money off of it, they will.
Blu-ray version seems kinda anniversary-edition to me though.

I wish Disney would have done all of this remastering a long time ago and re-released it into theaters a month or so before Tron Legacy. Would have been great. Maybe even show them back to back. A local theatre here did that with Iron Man and Iron man 2.

That sounds more like a theater-based thing. Theoretically a theater could show tron then legacy, but its probably not gonna happen without disney's approval.

It just seems (to me) that a blu-ray edition would better be released on a 30th anniversary rather than before the sequel.

That would be two years away & an "anniversary edition" is nothing more then a title. I really don't think it would change any features the Blu-Ray will offer...
