Behind The Scenes Questions! How DO they do it? So we've seen the vlogs, but some wonder: How did they Do that?!
Good Question! One I share! So here I ask you all, how do they (the makers of slenderstories):
Get video distortion and weird effects (not everbody knows cameras too well), including sound distortion and such.
Make a Slenderman? (since MH won'ttell, any ideas? Or answers from other Slenderstory-tellers?)

Distortion isn't actually to hard. If you never saw, I made a tut before. Video distortion is equally easy, I just lack the program for it. You'd either need photoshop CS3, Sony Vegas, or After Effects. All can do the distortion of video simply.
Here is the tut: http://www.instructables.com/id/Creating-Audio-Marble-Hornets-esque-Distortion/

WELL...
I'm gonna be a bitch and not say how I made my SM either, it's to good of a idea.
But I just realized that I posted how I did some of it in another thread.
Heres a clue on part of it:

Thanks for the distortion, check it out in-def later.
Not gonna lie, the question on how-to-slondorman might be a bit curiosity, but mainly a way to take ideas for when i'm ready to film my own series (already have a lot of work done).

Yeah, the reason it isn't general knowledge is that it would loose it's grasp over the audience if everyone could make a slender suit and a series. I'll teach you distortion, but not the suit. (Not that I know how to make one anyway)

I already have ideas, just nothing i'm satisfied with yet. The fact I just realized I know a make-up/costume expert who I hadn't asked makes this suddenly less relevant.
And it also makes me feel like an idiot.

Hey, if you figure the suit thing out, let me know, I'm trying to pull one together to prank my best friend with

I would say that making the suit prob'ly wouldn't be too hard if you know how to sew (of if you had a hand me down suit) it's be a piece of cake. Even if you had some one who knows how to sew well, it's a bonus, you'd just need the pattern for the suit.
The illusion of the face is a bit harder. I know that they sell whole body costumes that cover the whole face. I'm not sure if they just sell the face mask, though. But if you don't have money, try out some of the Adobe, Corel, or another photo editing program to edit out the face.
If you know someone who is really good at doing make up or who want to be a cosmetologist, that's a bonus, as well.
Alas, I don't know anyone who knows how to do makeup that well (nor do I have any money to purchase the body suit/mask), but I do have a bunch of cosplay friends who could make the Slendy suit.

The suit is a piece of cake, the elongated tentacle arms not too hard.
The face can be done woth certain fabrics, make would be harder. I'm not saying my ideas because I haven't tested them yet.

I have no plans to start making Slenderman videos, but I am a (semi)Professional costume designer (I'm actually a scenic designer but I dabble in costumes.) Here's my free Slendersuit tip, and a way to do something that no other SlenderVid has managed (at least that I've seen) and that's making him walk: Drywall Stilts Made so that drywall hangers and painters can move around while working on ceilings without using a ladder. The tallest pair can add 40" to your height, which would get an already 6' person up to 9'4" tall. They are designed to be easy to use and to require a minimum of practice to learn to balance. They would also be easily covered by pants legs. So... have any friends in the construction biz?

Those are Perfecct! And way to pricey for my non-existant budget.
Sadly, I don't have any friends in that biz (that I know of), so no chance of using them. For now.
Besides, I still have time, still in the process of writing and casting (using only friends though, no way coud I pay anyone...). Even then i'm not having slendy appear at the start...sort of. Can't reveal anymore.
Though I'm starting to worry i'll accidentally rip-off another slendervlog without realizing it. I mean I'll be doing something similar, but since I only watch MH and EMH (Lack of Lexicon doesn't count as it a blog obviously) I wouldn't know what else has been done.

I wanna know how Tribe Twelve made their Slender Man. Besides Marble Hornets, they have the best looking Slendy of any series. Like in their "Box Analysis" video, when you see Slender Man standing on the boardwalk with his tentacles flailing, how did they make him so tall?! O_o

My friend and I have a few slender man costumes, well a few different things for the head.
We have test footage and are still working on story and what we CAN and can't do before we put anything solid out.
I got asked on other forums how I made it and when I declined to tell nicely I got massive amounts of messages saying im a noob etc.
In my opinion out of TT EMH and MH the best looking is MH. Ours isnt the best but it is good enough and were working on it.
As for distortion that stuff isn't hard at all, someone already mentioned them.
What sucks and is a major slow down for our film series is my video camera that will be used for a lot of our film series since I have to do a lot of it on my own doesnt work in windows movie maker or most programs I try. Not even when I change it's file extension.
Oops ranting and got off topic. Sorry!

Poor mans slendy mask:
1: Go on a computer and find a picture editing software (Paint or microsoft word works best in this case)
2: Make the entire screen a skin- tone color.
3: Print it out.
4: Crumple until its soft and moldable
5: Apply to actors face, mold it around their face.
6: Apply clear tape to edges of paper, pretty much wrapping tape around your actors head. (If your actor has long hair, you might wan't to "modify" the tape and make the sticky side against their hair non-sticky by putting tissues on it).
While this does work, it's not really angle-proof. You'll get a good front-shot if done properly.
To make it more advance, you can apply plaster or liquid fiberglass to the already-molded paper to make the shape stay. You would then have to paint it with a flesh tone paint.

Possibly using flesh coloured Nylon Tights would be easier than this? I imagine that most of the slendy stuff would be filmed at night anyway. With the added video distortion I think this method ewould suffice in most cases.
