I'll be there too since I live in El Cajon. We should try to hang out if we get the chance too

I really dont want to go backto florida ever again.....plus the screen out here in Mira Mesa is pretty nice.. especially the sound...when they bumped that baby up for The Dark Knight.

I hate opening nights

Yeah you get to see the movie before everyone else, but you have to kill people just to get good seats. I usually wait a couple of days.

But this one I will probably regret not seeing opening night, but I hate sitting in that first first row looking at a half black screen not knowing what the hell is going on.

Best LA Venue

The best place to see it in LA is probably going to be the Universal City IMAX Theater next to Universal Studios, it has the only true IMAX screen in LA and the sound system is state of the art. Plus they revamped it over the last year so there are now two IMAX screens with RESERVED Seating, they have two 12:01am showset up. The problem with El Capitan is it is not an IMAX venue, just a nromal screen.

Beefy is right, the ONLY thing I am missing wildly about california is the weather. I came back to Texas to the worst heat wave since 1981.

Although I don't miss the economy, the crackheads, the bums, the economy, the bum crackheads, the haight ashbury pigeons (the homeless kids/hippies that tell you you are worthless if you don't give them a cigarette or all the money in your pocket), and not to mention the 50,000 crackheads and bums. And if you don't believe me there are over 50,000 homeless people in the Bay Area alone, no joke.

I think Tommy is the only one who deserves the California weather.

California is addicting, isn't it? A bazillion things to do, all at our fingertips. Of course we rarely ever do any of those bazillion things, but if we didn't have the option it'd drive us nuts. Laughing

You couldn't be more right. Part of my bitterness before I left was I was surviving on financial aid and I couldn't find a job for a year. I'm 29 and have been working non-stop since I was 13 and one year without a job messed me up especially in a place with a virtually unlimited amount of things to do.

But once again, the crackheads and bums ruin an otherwise seemingly amazing state.

Luckily the DFW area always has something to do. It's just hotter. Rolling Eyes

Its different out here with the homeless situation. I used to help them out, but they all got kicked to downtown. That sucks to hear what happened in your situation Shaved.

Anyways, the best thing being out here is Comic Con. Its just a trolley ride away.. and you dont have to pay for overpriced hotel rooms, and of course.. the scenic routes!!

Ill admit, it wasn't funny to me til a year after. But I had 7 bikes stolen in 5 years. When I was in Oakland I lived in a studio loft that was in a commercial building. The entire building was companies and after 5:00pm we were the only ones in the building. No one else had business there. You had to go up the stairs, down a hall, through some double doors then there was our front door.

I left my favorite bike in front of our doors outside and a crackhead got into the building and stole my bike. It was a $125 craigslist bike and the crackhead left his bike in its place. Well the bike he left was a vintage road bike that was actually worth about $150 so I got a better bike.

Every so often crackheads can be funny. But I still miss the hell out of that bike.

A Tron-inspired SF rant

Lol, I'm enjoying this dialogue. I live in the Outer Sunset in SF and I gotta agree that living here is kinda bittersweet. It can get expensive, but then again there is "virtually an unlimited amount of things to do". Very true. I have a disc golf course 3 blocks down in Golden Gate park. It's free and I daydream how it could become the ultimate Tron course. ANYWAY, the weather is treating us very good lately, however tomorrow (or even in a matter of hours) that could change. In fact, that's why the Encom press conference back in April had some timing issues. "Sam" couldn't jump for a while because of the winds that started kicking up. As far as theft, I haven't had anything stolen, but my girlfriend had her bike taken. Lesson learned: buy a U-Lock and NOT cables. 5 or 6 bikes you say? Ouch man, I'm sorry. The homeless are very present; something I don't care for but have learned how to coexist peacefully for the most part. The diversity and attitude here are unmatched. Period. Look at the Giants fans right now! Like I previously stated it's bittersweet living here, but anyone who has or is living here can agree that every day is an adventure. Oh, by the way I'll be with my girlfriend at the Metreon for both planned Tron Legacy events: Tron Night and Midnight Release. SEE YOU THERE!

all my friends used to make similar statements about IMAX being the only way to see movies. I could never tell the difference,so I did some researrch. Found out most IMAX screens are the same size as regular screens. Most often they take out the front 2 rows and move the screen closer. So in theory you could go to any theater and just sit two rows closer, lol. So make sure you know your IMAX theater is a "real" IMAX and not just a gimick.

Wow, what a scam! Does that mean if I sit a couple feet closer to my TV that I have an IMAX TV? Or just bad eyes. Shocked
