Damn, a book? Sweetness. Sadly, all my idea efforts are going to a Slender Man screenplay for a class I'm taking (yes, I'm serious, haha), but I'd be happy to proofread if needed.

Well, I've never been in a life-threatening injury, thankfully.. I suppose the closest I've been is when I injured my back badly during Elementary school.. Two bullies pushed me over and a tree root jammed into the small of my back, leaving me unable to walk properly for a week.

That had to suck. Mostly because that was the one week where, if wolves were out to get you, you'd be screwed.

On a more serious note, I'm assuming that did suck pretty hardcore?

Yeah. Physically and emotionally scarring. It made me hate school because no one wanted to help me there and I've lived with back problems ever since. =D I'm totally normal.

The car accident could be induced when he swerves to avoid a "rather tall business man." But allusions to JAF aside, I have some questions/suggestions for you to think about.
1.Do you intend to have this story in the main Slender Man cannon (i.e. MH, Seeking Truth, EMH, TT, all happened in your universe) or not? And that is regardless of whether or not you actually mention them.
2.How long after the car crash is Sm going to appear?
3. Does he have other reoccurring hallucinations that are not real?

1. I'm going to reference a lot of the more popular Slender Man material, but I wouldn't feel right having those events actually happen without permission from the creators. Example: Getting permission from Troy Wagner to have the Marble Hornets events actually happen. If I can't get permission they'll just be fictional work, sort of like how Dracula is referenced in some vampire films as fiction.

2. I haven't decided yet.

3. Yes. I'm still working out how I want these to be. Part of me wants something completely random, but another part of me likes the idea of a hallucination tied to his past. This'll be more concrete once I have more character development down.

Edit: To point three, I just had a possible idea for the protagonist to start hallucinating conversations, phone calls, etc. with his significant other. The idea is three-fold: it puts his spiral into madness into overdrive because he has to question everything he does with his significant other, it speaks to how insane he's already become, and it acts as a sort of gateway for his subconscious to tell him things. I'll admit that last bit is an idea inspired by Season 5 of House, where House hallucinates Wilson's dead girlfriend and figures out that she knows EVERYTHING he does, even things he didn't know he knew and/or thought he forgot.

Edit: The more I think about the girlfriend hallucination angle, the more I like it. Thoughts?

Hallucinating Slenderman and potentially his girlfriend is a good angle, perhaps something along the line of being personification of his Id and Ego, I think. Perhaps someone else to be antagonistic to him perhaps, though not like how with Zeke?

It should be noted that he isn't hallucinating the Slender Man, at least not entirely. In the story, the Slender Man is real and the cause of SOME of his hallucinations. I'm not sure I want a "Masked Man" type character, or even a Conaghan. Those elements are really dependent on how I flesh out the character's background and lifestyle.

Out of the blue, I've had an idea. What if his girlfriend dies in the car crash? Or someone close to him? I don't have anything else to say, but it popped into my head so I thought I'd offer it.

It's a possibility, but one that'd be hard to pull off. People tend to not be able to block that out successfully what with friends, relatives, lawyers, cops, etc. all reminding you.

Another idea! (just because I like plotting so much =D) His life flashed before his eyes during the final moments of the car crash... and he saw SlenderMan! >=O *waves hands for dramatic effect*
