I'm so torn, go to the 20 minute screening (close to home, possible flynn lives swag), or go to the RSVP Electronica meetup at Disney (Tron props, writers, special edition arcade coin) ??? I wish the preview was an hour earlier so i could do both.

Personally, the Electronica would be a no brainer for me. It seems they are really making an event out of Tron night. You're guaranteed some cool swag and cool happenings.

We're just guaranteed just 23 minutes of footage.

Color me jealous.

Speaking as an annual pass holder who has experienced ElecTRONica a couple times already I'd go with the Tron Night. unless you have no means of ever going to ElecTRONica otherwise because you dont have a pass to DCA.

BTW, while I agree that there will probably be little or no swag, it's a good idea to keep our eyes open. My guess is that there will be some element that will lead us to another site/game/whatever. I was hoping we'd get some idea of that today or tomorrow in the form of a message board post or something, but perhaps not.

Either way, everyone who goes, keep your eyes peeled for anything unusual.

I'm still hoping something shows up in the mail from the recent Arcade Aid challenge. That way I can have that with me.

I'll be at the Riverside, CA screening with my Flynn Lives shirt and a couple of pins from previous achievements.

Swag?

I really doubt there is going to be any swag there. My brother and I are planning on going with our friends around 3 or 4 just to scope the place out.

But they are doing this in just as many cities as there were people at Wondercon so I doubt they can really have any swag for us. I think best case there will be an exclusive wrist band.

Here's to hoping. Smile

I'm with shaved_ave - unless they've really really managed to pull together a mass distributed event in so many locations worldwide with swag all around, I doubt there will be official swag.

I think at these kinds of events it's more up to the venues as to how much effort they put into its production (perhaps limited by contract to some degree tho).

But, I do still hope strongly that there will be a FL-related game occurrence, especially with the phones.

I think a lot of people put a lot of high expectations on these coordinated events, to find that they really are just come-and-watch-a-preview-video-then-farewell exclusive gatherings. For past events in TO, I know a few of my friends who started following FL were fairly let down due to the hype surrounding the event(s).

I think it's important to be realistic - hopeful, but realistic. I prefer treating these distributed preview-style events as community events - meet up with other fans, get-your-geek-on type of stuff, without expectations of free swag and whatnot. Since the events don't make much sense in-game anyway, it seems a little futile to me to consider them rewarding in-game.

That said, it would certainly be exciting if tomorrow's events were executed to a much greater coordinated scale and actually did have some overt, obvious connection to FL and actually got attendees interested in following the campaign rather than just attending an exclusive sneak peak at the local theater. Shouldn't that be the intent anyway? *shrug*

Considering I probably won't be making it tomorrow (I had hoped I could, but not looking likely now), I hope there's no real good swag I'll regret missing Sad

When they did the theatrical re-screening of the original Transformers, preceded by the new trailer for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, they were giving away toys and stuff as part of a trivia challenge prior to the show starting. It wasn't official merchandise from the new movie, but it was something.

Whether that was something put together by the local representation (Go Live Miami) or something done nationally, I can't say.

Well, that wasn't 42E, and it wasn't an ARG/viral campaign like this...

I'd wager it was the former.

I'm sure you all will, but we should all wear our ENCOM I.D. badges. I'm actually gonna try and wear the same shirt I had on in my I.D. pic. If I have a jacket on I'll throw on my 89 and SP pins. Really curious how many people I'll see in my area who have the I.D. badges. not the guest badges that were handed out. Either way this should be a really cool event.

i can pretty much guarantee that Tron Night won't be the same footage as elecTRONica. I just went on Friday and while incredibly awesome, it was really just the same clip from Comic-Con. About 10 minutes or so.

I would bet that tomorrow's preview will probably include that but will also be much more.

I am torn about wanting to go. I got a ticket for the Chicago IMAX, but I really only want to go for swag. I don't want to see over 20 minutes of the film, that can only lead to spoilers and being slightly bored when the 20+ minutes comes up during the full showing.

Anyone else the same way?

Bruceoite im sure lots of us are torn about going and spoiling it for ourselfs. The chance of swag is very slim but the way i look at it Tron night will make for a great night out with the chance to meet other FL/unfiction members Smile
Ive decided to go the extra mile(s) and goto the London Leicester square showing (ill be wearing my FL tee and ENCOM ID) as im sure the atmosphere there will be better than a cinema closer to me...plus a day out in London is a bonus Very Happy

I'm hoping for some swag, but since there is no IMAX near me (Jackson MS) I'm traveling about 3 hours for this one and can't wait to see what this is going to look like. My son is more hyped about this one and has about half of the stuff Spin Master has put out. Neat little road trip for us.
