Regardless, just because one can't be directly responsible for bringing such a big company down doesn't mean that the best mode of action is to shrug and say that it's out of our hands, might as well enjoy it!

I'm fairly certain that Troy and Joseph wouldn't ask to have such a thing put together on Gaia. They don't even endorse the facebook Slendy and Masky pages, and those are (as far as I know) non-profit shenanigans. Regardless, I know that the creators have been notified and will do their own thing. In the meantime, it's just respectful to boycott people who are making money off of others' creative content. If Gaia does this shit with other fandoms I think it's worth boycotting the entire site on those grounds. That kind of behavior isn't respectful to the owners.

Eek, It seems I spoke too early on this matter. If Gaia did not get permission from the creators, then I disapprove of the whole thing. And not just because it's Marble Hornets.

It would be cool if it didn't cost actual money. Slender Man was created by Victor Surge, and he could have given permission for the Woods and the Doll, the Mask is totally MH, though.

Either way this is really scuzzy of them, unless they specifically asked to use the images.

agreed. slenderbender is up for free game but the fact that they added the doll and maskys mask, its an obvious reference to MH and it shouldnt be there regardless of whether you have to pay for it or not. the creators should be asked. is their stuff copyrighted tho? if it's not, they should get on that. and not even for a profit or anything, just so it's "official" that it's their work and no other people can steal it or anything. MH is phenomenal and all their work should be protected and ensured that credit is given to them, again, regardless of profit.

Actually, once you've created a thing, it's automatically protected as yours, as long as you can prove you've made it. Though I am in Canada, I doubt things are substantially different when it comes to intellectual property in the U.S.
