Hmmm. Stop motion green screened onto live footage can look awful, but on the other hand, stop motion has a pretty direct connection to nightmare fuel for many people, myself included, so that could help it along.

Clay Motion would be wicked difficult to make it look realistic, do you have any animation experience? If you were to animate tentacles, along with the usage of some distortion, you could end up with a surprisingly realistic result.

What I'd like to see is more than just Slender Man in the story. Throw in some other creatures, maybe it could be a battle between two incomprehensible beings with the unlucky protagonist caught in the middle. Slender Man by himself is starting to get stale.

(woohoo first post!)

It's never really JUST been Slendy. MH has masky, EMH has HABIT and the Rake, TT has the Observer, the other vlogs have their proxies and such. Actually, now that I think about it, few vlogs actually have JUST Slender Man as the antagonist.

Not for long, anyway. There's always an NSA eventually (NSA=Non-Slender Antagonist).

But the vlogs only make up a small portion of the all the slenderblogs. In a lot of them (and most of them are written blogs) it's just Slendy and his proxies, like Slate and Redlight and Conaghan and all those guys who work for the big tall guy. Maybe I wasn't clear before, but the proxies are just really extensions of Slender Man and his will, so I tend not to count them as separate entities.

Speaking of the written ones, I really don't like it when they start typing out stuff like "oh god oh god" and "ok deep breaths calm down" and whatnot. Why would they take the time to write out their panic attacks? Posts like that just serve to remind you that it's not real.

Well, I would have agreed with you on that second point, but I've seen that people having panic attacks are still capable of typing to inform others of said panic attacks. It seems counter-intuitive to somebody like me who has never had one, but unless they were faking, that's how it goes.

Oh, yeah, I don't deny that people are capable of typing while having panic attacks. It's just that typing out verbal expletives and talking to yourself and stuff like that seems silly. I'd expect someone panicking to type out something erratic and kind of hard to follow. Like "hes outsidemy door and looking in what do i do? hes' here and someone helpplease someone help Im scared and i dont kno what ot do" rather than "Oh god! oh god oh god! He's right outside my door! What do I DO? OK, calm down, just take a deep breath... Oh God, what do I do?"

What a lot of bloggers do is type out things that make sense to be said out loud, but not typed out. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but it just annoys me when I see it.

OK, I agree with that (the best example of course being Zeke's "drunk" post). I think that's a flaw of blogs as a fiction medium. You want it to look like it was really written in such-and-such a situation, but because you are actually trying to entertain, you want it to attract readers, not repel them.

You know what I am sick of? Slendermen that are not SLENDER.
Seriously. I think Marble hornets is the only series where Slendy is taller than 8 feet. All the other web series have guys with suits trying to be Slenderman. It throws off the legitimacy off his whole Mythos. Its ridiculous.
Slendy is suppose to look like this.

I think if you can have someone who's rather tall (near 6 feet, at least), with perspective and such you can make him seem taller. When he has to get up close, though, is when the problem starts. Like most people have said in another thread, you could use painter stilts to elongate the legs, but when he has to walk AND be tall, that could be a problem (walking on stilts isn't easy, I've heard. However, I don't know how painter's stilts work, so..)

Plus, no one is that skinny. I mean, look at the first picture. It's like an anorexic toothpick.

I'd like to see a Slenderstory where Slenderman is portrayed more as a straight evil creature, rather than some sort of Lovecraftian thing that doesn't comprehend humans. Like, in his old stories, he was a mythical monster that lived in the woods and tore unassuming little children to shreds with his multiple tendrils. Now he's an ancient eldritch entity from beyond the deepest depths of time and space who...drives people crazy, somehow, maybe by accident. In other words, bring back Evil Slendy, not his more mellowed-out incarnation that's so popular now.

Good read everyone. Just sat here and read every post (minus skipping some spoilers for T12 & EMH since I haven't seen those yet but plan on it).

But I agree with a lot of what everyone says. I've seen a few other things besides Marble Hornets, but none of them were that great. The few I saw that took things like the (X) and distortion from MH seemed really lame. Come up with your own stuff. Maybe I'm being to critical, but that stuff just seems like flat out stealing ideas and really turns me off.

This thread has actually helped me with my CYOA here. I didn't really plan on a lot of stuff that were listed under people's "Do not wants", but this gave me a few ideas.
