Well, it sounds like Core Theory was just gutted from the inside out, so that's cool.

And I agree, Rozwell, a more proactive slendy is a better slendy. My friend is considering work on a series where Slenderman actually does things like kidnapping children and such.

Also, Emery_Cross, you should check out EverymanHYBRID. Their (real) Slenderman is exceptional. In most videos he's only around 6, 7 feet tall, but in a few (Ashen Waste, holy shit) he's closer to 9 feet, totally towering over Evan. TribeTwelve, last time we saw him, has a shorty slenderman but they make up for it with tentacles.

"Just"? Core Theory's been dead for months now, mate. Wink
What did happen recently was the dropping of the super powered "Revenents" who had started to take Slendy's place as primary antagonists. Which is wonderful, as they had been becoming ridiculous.

I dunno, I think I'd like that slendy better if someone did it better. The thing that always freaked me out about The Old Ones and The Elder Gods was that they had no real meaning anymore and their followers were just savage sacrificers of innocents. The screen time that's given to the actual horrors is so much less than the screen time given to the people that worship the deities and commit the atrocities.

The other thing is that The Old Ones and Elder Gods didn't actually have any interest in sacrificial victims when they actually showed up, they were just chaos solidified. The only thing they had any interest in was killing everything. They were completely evil, but not out of malevolence, but simply because they were.

Okay, I started a blog, but I'm not telling about it. I will let you guys find it. Just one hint: It is on blogspot, that's all. If even this is too much...rule-breakage, then I will delete this post.

It's not against the rules to post out-of-character, though some think it's immersion breaking.

Nimbus does it. But anyway, should I edit the post?

Ah, but see, that's what I'm talking about. I mean I'd like to see a Slendy that's not Lovecraft-influenced at all. More of a Jersey Devil than Nyarlothatep. Something that lives in the woods, doesn't like to be disturbed, and really likes the taste of people. Everyone knows he's there, but no one knows why. But I guess that's more of a difference in taste for me personally; I tend to be more frightened of the prospect of being killed painfully than of being turned insane by some really old alien/entity.

Hrm, don't know if anyone's mentioned this but...

What I haven't seen is a Slender-minion that doesn't care about identity. That or one that just has an open-mask. 8,U
I think the minions are old, but if there's one needed, they could make it wear a wig and contact lenses and maybe something small to cover the face slightly, but y'know what I mean?

Something about someone not caring about hiding identity scares me.
Also seeing their face but not being able to figure out their identity due to a wig/contacts... 8U

Plus, if the contacts/wigs are unnatural, then maybe that would throw people off and make them guess whether they're human or not.

I'm kind of tired of seeing stupid protagonists. These people know what they're up against, but continue to blindly do everything they shouldn't. "Oh, this creature gets worse as we know more about it. WE SHOULD INVESTIGATE WHY AND IN THE PROCESS LEARN MORE ABOUT THE HORRIBLE MONSTER STALKING US! BRILLIANT!"

Or...
"Oh, the creature is targeting us while we're alone and vulnerable. I GUESS IT'S TIME TO SPLIT UP AND NOT TALK TO EACH OTHER FOR DAYS, RIGHT?!"

Or...
"Oh, this creature is obviously real and not a person in a costume trying to fuck with us. LET'S PRETEND IT COULD STILL BE A PERSON TRYING TO FUCK WITH US BECAUSE DENIAL IS AWESOME!"

I understand that smart people are the antithesis of most Horror films, but COME ON people! Find a clever way to be stupid!

I'm sick of people trying to figure out whats going on from a distance.

I mean if someone you didn't know knocked on your door you wouldn't go hide in the bathroom till they go away and then say "wonder what they wanted"

No you would go and ask...maybe with a weapon behind your back.

also I would love to see someone do a video from Slendermans point of view.
see what his side of the story is. why is he stalking these people or killing these kids.

I think it's been beaten to death in this thread that Slendy's POV would be extremely difficult to pull of and still be scary. The whole point of it is that the lack of knowledge, the absolute unknown, the "defies comprehension" aspect of Slendy's being is what makes him the most terrifying.

We know he's climbing in your windows and snatching your kiddies up, but we really don't know why, and that scares us. Mostly because not knowing for sure makes us imagine some of the worst things possible. To quote Palahniuk, "Nothing is as good as you can imagine it...Nothing is as exciting as your fantasy."

Or in this case, nightmare.

I also rather enjoy the use of humor in Slendervlogs. If pulled off correctly, the effect can be devastating. In EMH, I appreciate their use of humor as a lot of the time it's clearly there to mask the terror they feel. Humor is a defense mechanism, we use it as an escape from reality when times get tough.

I think you could pull off a series from Slenderman's point of view, just you can't do it on a horror sense. I think it'd be more about discovering who the protagonist is(think about it, the early videos would be little more than video tapings of random events of stranger's lives), and then be a thriller about what he intends to do.

I guess so, but in that sense it would make less sense to do it as a slendy vlog. It would be scarier, more intense and far more effective (both cost-wise and plot-wise) to have it just be a stalker blog. And easier to pull off.

I can't see it being done as Slendy and coming off as anything but ridiculous. The idea of Slendy actively archiving his hunt for any other humans just doesn't strike the right chord with me.
