Time is provided by the server, apparently (link); server is reporting the time as Pacific.

Its local time for me too but if there are enough people checking at their local time someone will see the chat. I hope so I won't be near a computer next Thursday.

Let me clarify: Once there are chats to read, they will most probably be in Pacific time; the chat log will be time stamped when the conversation takes place.

The primary screen - the PDP-11 - does use the local time.

We simply don't know until there's something to read.

4D & 5O and the calendar

I counted 4 Down as this week, making 5 Over today, 10/21!
My guess is that a chat will happen 11:09-11:46 local time for Josh Minker, East Coast IIRC.

Could be - it depends how you count the downs.

Well, isn't it coincidence this password prompt showed up today of all days?

I'm really hoping on that time too, but I need to study for an exam tomorrow...

4D and 5O's last leg

I've been reading the posts and wondered if perhaps the 4down and 5 over is incorrect. You are basing that the 4 down is based on complete weeks of the month. What if the first week counted is actually started on oct 1st. That would make 4 down the week of 10/17-23. 5 over would then be today the 21st. That is, keeping the same counting method. The last leg for today is 11:09-11:46pm.

So, if my thinking is clear, the message should be today. The next question is, where? The HL&M site, the PDP-11 site, RP site, this blog site?

Ok fish me... I completely missed the above posts ......DOH!!!~ Embarassed

Wow, people, especially parmav! You rock. To knock a password in only a day - great!

Now we have to wait for time, mentioned in calendar...

Same for me.

How did you get from foghorn to toadfish then?

The toadfish makes a "foghorn" sound - from the photo slider on HLM. At least we know the two sites are linked directly, though. Maybe we now need to solve the 5O & 4D bit.

Wow missed a day and there was actually something to do! Congratulations parmav! Way to go!

So does this mean when they meet -- 4D & 5O and bring a foghorn - Will Josh need to bring a Toadfish? A trade?
