I wonder if TTA factors into the new shoots. Otherwise, they'll be getting quite a nice chunk of the season done in just a few days.

I'm really hoping the tight shooting schedule means that at least one entry will involve the day before Jay loses his memories. (Since that would involve him at least checking into the hotel.)

I've been thinking a bit about Jay's memory loss this season.

So we know that in Entry #27, Jay says that he was unable to remember the last seven months of his life. I always assumed that the only reason he was unable to remember precisely seven months was because he didn't have access to any of his footage during those months. In truth, Jay initially couldn't remember more than those seven months, but he quickly rewatched his entries and remembered everything in his life up to the time he posted Entry #26.

However, he has now had access to the footage of the seven months for quite some time, but it doesn't seem like he's actually beginning to remember those seven months for real. His most recent twitter post was his theory on why he took Alex's key - not him remembering the reason for why he took it. What gives? Is this a plot hole? Shouldn't Jay be remembering things as he works his way through the tapes?

Also, is memory loss the actual reason why Alex and Jay tape themselves at all times? I always thought they did it out of paranoia/self defense, but who knows.

It doesn't seem to be a case of "ohhh yeaaah I remember now" with him. I think it's pretty straightforward.

Only the last seven months are missing from his memory (not counting all the little things mentioned in season one). Consider them deleted, and not just compressed.

Here's an analogy I whipped up: You go to a party, you get really really REALLY drunk. You get up on a table and start dancing. You slip, fall, smash your head on the table, wake up the next morning with stitches.
Do you remember that? No. That doesn't stop a video of it from being posted on the internet.

I assumed what he meant was that he only knows what's on the videos, since he just watched them, but without the videos he wouldn't have remembered the event at all.

Man, just imagine if a tweet from Jay that went like this:
