Springing discussion from the twitter thread, I suppose I could understand if Entry 52 was not the season closer - there's a lot of stuff to resolve. We have to get Jessica back, they have to encounter whatever they encounter, and get to the hotel. Possibly this could be done in one massive entry, like the 14 minute epic anticlimax - but still. Might be better broken up into a small number of entries.

I really wasn't expecting 52 to be the finale. Looks like two more, three max. Next entry will probably show the rest of 29 and maybe how Jay and Jessica end up at the hotel. Then the finale will have some reason for a several month long break. Or I could be completely wrong about all of that.

i also think that alex purposely picked specific tapes to give jay in season 1. he kept entry 22's tape and entry 51's, both showed evidence of MH cast being taken. it's not until 51 that we can make the connection that alex was the one who led them there purposely. this leads me to believe that alex has been lying since the beginning, and only making it look like he is innocent. TTA members found out about his lies and want to help jay, but they are skeptical because they think jay is working with alex (do i help or do i kill), which also explains why tim follows jay and never does anything more, he wants to know what jay knows.

based on the "did you see me, i saw you" thing showing us hoody sitting by the tree in entry... 40?, i think it's safe to assume that hoody is a TTA member.

alex/jay have to be aware of hoody. there's no way they didn't watch entry 41's tape when they got back to wherever they were going. i wonder if alex made the connection when he ran into hoody in entry 45.

part of me wants to say that tim has already lost his mind (or maybe he just snapped) and hoody is on his way, and wants to clue jay in on what's going on before he loses his mind too, he just can't be sure if he can trust jay or not due to how much time jay+alex spend with each other. (makes the story much better for me, due to hoody feeling the loss of a good friend in tim - it's possible that the "you are you, but who are you" statements are saying "you're still sane, but you're not sane anymore, neither are you, or you - "so much more than time has been lost").

maybe jay was the closest one to alex, which is why alex hasn't sacrificed jay yet. and hoody knows that jay is the only one who will be able to do anything about the situation once he goes insane too from slender sickness.

The only reason why people think video 52 was the finale video because like season one had 26 videos. Course most of early video were like two minutes and uploaded very fast somewhat simple logic.

Theory time:

In 2006, Jay was involved in at least one disappearing, possibly Tim's. He doesn't remember it because he was being operated just as Alex was/is ("don't follow me!"). Alex and Jay were "chosen" around the events of Entry #5, because they were pretty good friends at the time. Entry #19 and Return were Tim's attempt at disappearing Jay in revenge. Big Op ignored Jay because he was his pawn. Tim then decided that if he can't have Jay dead, he'll turn him against Alex by planting the red tower tape and by setting him on Alex's trail. Meanwhile, The Operator proceeded to win Jay back (in his own cosmic ways) in entries #23 and #24.

This would explain why The Operator never seemed to hurt Jay in Return, #23, #40, #46, and assumedly #29; why Tim would rather tackle and stalk Jay than just help him; and also why Alex didn't just murder Jay in #35.
