Wow, that's an abbreviated version of the scene. They cut the "you got big...you got...old" line, and I'm pretty sure Quorra's "He didn't expect to see you again" line wasn't there...at least wasn't a voice over.

I hope that's just a preview edit. The longer scene was much better.
They probably edited that just for online purposes. The full scene from Tron Night was practically 3-4 minutes long.

Btw, here's my article on Tron Night:

Well ya I did see the so-called TROLL comments, which is not what I am, just wanted to give a heads up on how bad it was. I mean isn't loving the movie before you see it 10 times worse then seeing 23 mins and then deciding you hate it? I saw what I saw... and it was super bad, and that's my opinion of the film. If it was awesome, I would have come on here and said it was awesome... so why the strange reactions? You wanted to know if if was bad or good, and asked the question, so I answered with my opinion. Again it's just my opinion and you are 100% free to love it ( or hate it) Honestly though, I can't see anyone buying a ticket, even super super crazed fans probably will not like it, but I could be wrong.

Rather than Flame bait as was done earlier, I would like to point out that Jefftron, while entitled to his/her opinion, is hiding behind a guest moniker. He/she doesn't have the decency to use an actual member name or login. I happen to disagree with what they had said, but I'm not one to say "STFU" cause that's not cool. While we don't agree, we shouldn't say leave now, but instead state why we disagree with him/her.

Remember, as I stated earlier, the director, Kosinski, and the Skywalker sound guys had issues with the Tron Night footage as well.... Granted, their issues were more on a technical level as opposed to acting/storyline quality.

I myself enjoyed it. If you don't like the way Garret plays Sam, then you didn't like any of his other portrayals of Sam. I haven't seen him change the way he acts the part just cause it's actual movie footage instead of ARG footage. If you didn't like Bruce's portrayal of Allen in the first scene, then you probably didn't like the trailers either, because half of that scene has already been shown in most of the trailers...

If you had complaints about the "quality of the 3D not being 3D enough," well, bear in mind, they didn't really show much that took advantage of the 3D and really jump out at the camera. It was primarily side angles which would only allow depth of field more than anything else. I for one am glad that they didn't show any gimmicky 3D scenes. This was merely meant to show off some more of what we already know. This was closer to the "love letter to the fans" that was originally expected.

I know that the final product will be more than the sum of what we saw, plus it will be more polished and more synchronized. In short what we will see will be better than what we did see. I know that Joseph Kosinski wants to make this movie be the best he can make it and he will do what it takes to do so. Hearing his technical observations after the screening, seeing him catch flaws I didn't notice, and begin to assess how he can fix it right then and there, is the mark of someone who cares and want's to make it right.

I really don't understand way haters, bashers, and would be "critics" are spouting very negative "opinions"... Some of their comments just sound really contrived. (not refering to any specific person here)
I don't get it? Is it for attention? Is it to "rain on people's enjoyment of the parade"? I don't get it.

The scenes I saw on Tron Night looked immensely great, the acting was pretty good, the music phenomenal.. IMO.
I guess some people expect way, way too much or something. :/

I've had discussions with my friends based on movie quality and execution in the past. The most important factor that is usually brought up is the following. Could you do any better in making a film, considering the immense budget, deadlines, and countless other factors that go into creating a film? What would your vision of the Tron universe look like, and would it serve to please an immense amount of fans and moviegoers when it is finally released? I'm sure that if any one of us that tried to attempt the same feat, the final result would end up with cardboard lightcycle sequences and other shoddy attempts at acting and effects. I enjoy going to movies because a majority of them offer a unique viewing experience created by a group of very talented individuals. I feel that a majority of people nowadays would do better to humble themselves by thinking of this scenario and realize that movie making isn't as simple as pointing a camera at actors and telling them to recite their script. The next time you say a film is "super bad", consider cutting-edge computer effects weighed against your hot glue assembled light cycle.

Obviously, Jefftron didn't see ALL the "so-called TROLL comments". I'll repeat a little of what I said earlier in hopes he actually reads it rather than just spout what is sounding more and more like just nonsense to get attention...

Jefftron,

I have no idea why, but your comments make me totally laugh. Thanks for taking the time to post that you aren't actually going to see the film.
Thanks for sharing your opinion "its super bad". I'm sorry to see you got the disappointment "of a lifetime" and you feel we are having "strange reactions" to your comments.

At least you aren't over the top, and it's good to see you trying to help your fellow tron fan with your opinions. It's so helpful you keep repeating stuff like "even super super crazed fans probably will not like it". While it's possible that you aren't just looking for attention and you really are trying to help, I can only recommend to you that you totally purge yourself of anything Tron, forget this movie even exists and never post on this forum again. I hope for your own mental well being you don't keep torturing yourself with anything related to the new tron movie. Maybe then you can get past your bad preview experience and be clean again. There will be a lot better movies coming out in the future, and that is where you should concentrate your time and effort. I look forward to you not trying to get any more attention, not torturing yourself with your bad preview experience, and concentrate on stuff you really enjoy. Good Luck and hopefully Good Bye.

Obvious troll is obvious. Laughing

Don't feed the guy. Nothing specific in his post, nothing remotely constructive, not even a certain scene he wanted to show as an example of "super bad". Come on, you guys here at uF have been on the interawebs before, amirite?

Moving on..

If anyone does have issue with the 23 minute showing, check the size of the screen you saw it on. Chances are, it wasn't the IMAX you were looking for..

Movielord, you are correct. I was working off an incorrect assumption before, but I guess a rose is a rose. I thought the rose was really a daisy, and was trying to help. After the rose proved it wasn't a daisy, I wasn't smart enough to take the hint, and I called it a daisy again. I will try not to make that mistake any more.

Did anyone besides me notice how cool Sam's living quarters were? After he closed the "front garage" it revealed his "back garage" was still open with a view to the water. Nice touch! Where was the bathroom? Maybe this was just a hangout? LOL

Didn't we move on from this?

MovieLord, we get it, you have hilarious forum pics you like to break out at any given opportunity - can you ease up on them please?

Also, we're all aware of the troll and how to deal with one, yet here we are discussing why it was a troll, why we should ignore trolls, how to spot trolls, backslapping each other for spotting trolls and why we should stop talking about trolls (myself included).

It's a little hypocritical.

Perhaps the Garrett-haters (and I am not referring to anyone on this site) should read this. http://jimhillmedia.com/Columnists/b/shelly_valladolid/archive/2010/11/03/bruce-boxleitner-tells-garrett-hedlund-quot-tron-is-my-legacy-so-don-t-screw-it-up-quot.aspx?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed:+Jimhillmediacom+(JimHillMedia.com
The title is a bit misleading.
