I'm still utterly positive I've figured out HABIT. You guys keep getting really close too. But I want to talk to HABIT himself first to see whether I'm indeed on the right track, and more importantly, whether we're supposed to have figured this out yet... I know it sounds like I'm being way too sure of myself, but believe me...

Hopefully you'll have better luck than the rest of us. I tried flattery.

REALLY? The Tosh. 0 blog? That's weird, it kinda looks like someone wrote it on a locker.

o3o That's really interesting, I think I read it from the Wiki page actually but then that definitely reinforces the meaning.

I would have no idea what to say to HABIT. It would be the most awkward email ever xD

Time for me to pimp something I think EMH (or MH, etc) fans will enjoy: I was lucky enough to recently get to see Yellowbrickroad, an indie horror picture likely to be released shortly which is one of the finest American horror films I've seen in recent years. This is praise I don't give out lightly as I think the bulk of the "great white indie horror hopes" in the last decade have largely been shit - we're so starved for American horror to regenerate we put up with a lot of half-bright crap. But this film is pretty fucking good.

Yellowbrickroad is about an expedition into a mysterious forest that an entire town's population walked into in 1940 - and disappeared. Predictably, the expedition goes horribly wrong. The original trailer is on the site, here. Throughout my viewing of the film I couldn't help but be reminded of "A Day In The Life" and some of the hidden videos of the EMH gang in the woods, as well as certain MH entries involving time and space folding in on itself, and of course I'm sure there are perhaps House of Leaves similarities on that front. Anyway, when it comes out, see it. You'll like it. And that goes double for Jeff and the EMH crew, if they are lurking.

qaqa- looks interesting. Will definitely check it out.

So yesterday I was in this half-asleep state because of the pain pills I took (I got a wisdom tooth pulled) when all of a sudden the goddamned fire alarm went off. Except I didn't realize that's what it was. I tumbled off of the couch and freaked out, for a moment absolutely positive it was in my head and that Slender Man was there.

I blame you people for this. All of you.

(it was pretty funny after I realized I'm an idiot, though.)

Only posting in hopes to alleviate my boredom.
I have two fanart drawings I'm working on that I hope to post in the art thread soon. I just finished a presentation and used the Slenderman mythos as an example for it. Got an A!

Another trippy "bad land" movie if you've never seen it - Peter Weir's Picnic At Hanging Rock. An absolute fucking must and a cornerstone of classic horror for genre fans. I think it's got a good DVD release now. Although Hanging Rock is also a cultural/social study, and the question of the disappearances is something of a trigger for that, the film retains an eerie power throughout and pisses from a great height on most imitators. Everything from Yellowbrickroad to The Blair Witch Project to shit like Lost and so on owes some manner of debt to Picnic At Hanging Rock.

Oh god, yes, yes, YES!

Picnic At Hanging Rock is freaking fantastic, along with the book the move was based on.

Major spoiler:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
What's even better is that so many people thought it was a true story due to how the novel was written, when in reality it was mostly pure fiction save for the Hanging Rock, The school, and a few other objects she planted to make it appear to be truth, along with the authors work towards never confirming or denying it as (non)fiction.
