@Cor, thanks! You are absolutely right, the first scene needs a lot of fleshing out. If I was really going to use it I would need to go over how Evan and Vince got together (but not too much detail because that was going to be the heart of the story -- how they got together and then what drove Evan to end everything) and I would spend more time on meaningful interaction between Vince and his mother.

If I may ask, what do you find stylistically different between this excerpt and replica? I'm taking a survey, very unofficial. Wink Thanks for your feedback!

So I was thinking about this question last night as I was laying down, and I had this whole essay-length explanation ready, but then I fell asleep and forgot it. Here's my attempt to piece it back together (sorry).

Replica seems to bring in a lot of emotion by describing physical objects: the room Vinnie is in, the chair, the loss of his glasses. The recent one, to me, is focused primarily on the internal struggle that Vinnie is going through. There's a little about the world outside, but mostly it's his thought process. While Replica also follows Vinnie's train of thought, it's mostly shown through thoughts of the past.

:/ So that's about all I can remember... Replica relies (at least on the surface) a lot more on the external to get across emotion while The Middle of the Floor Feels Safe Tonight (?) focuses much more on the internal struggle. Sorry if this makes no sense.

So I live in Texas and I was in Austin during that South by Southwest music festival, and I was in a bar/lounge/whatever called Antone's (apparantly a pretty famous place). One of the bands that played was actually pretty good, stood out among the rest, and it was only their second time playing live as a band. "Now The Rabbit Has The Gun". I was with my cousin who I had previously introduced to Slender Man and we thought the name was pretty amusing, especially since while I was there was when HABIT used the EveryManHybrid twitter for a couple tweets.

After their show, we talked to the singer and gave him our email addresses and he emailed their album to us for free (it's only available as a free digital download but I couldn't find it on Google).

Worth a listen to if you would like to listen to a very good, upcoming indie/pop-rock (I guess?) band.
The first song is Now The Rabbit Has The Gun, on the album which is named Now The Rabbit Has The Gun, by the band Now The Rabbit Has The Gun.
Totally going to be the theme song for when we eventually kick HABIT's ass.

Dude. I was going to do the same thing with some help from my colleagues at work this summer. You ninja'd me and it is awesome. Nice job.

BTW, if you don't edit professionally, you could. You've got the rhythm of trailers down, right to the "button" (the gag or stinger clip after the title)

FANTASTIC! Though I say lose the music/swap it for something creepier. Otherwise wonderfully done.

Yeah, the music didn't work for me, and I'm not too sure about the font either. But the clips chosen and the order of them was good.

That trailer was pretty amazing, but the only thing to change other than the music would be the title. The white "EvermanHybrid" against the lemon/lime color of the logo is hard to read, and it's in a rather ordinary font (I suppose that goes with "everyman" though?).

Nice preview.

Also, anyone else waiting for South Park to parody the Slender Man Mythos. They've pretty much parodied everything know to man and they actually to it really well. A Slender Man South Park episode would be awesome.

o3o That trailer is epic. Though I agree about the font, I like the music =P I love the clips though, especially Vinnie reading the House of Leaves passage (I think that's what the 'God is alone' bit is from) and Evan talking to the camera. Great work!

Seconding the change in music to something less pop-ish, but its still a great trailer!

Edit: Gah, I'm sorry Cor, I didn't see your response. Thank you so much, that's a really big help! Very Happy

So uh. I'm new to this thread, but not EMH. *waves*

If I told you guys that lately I'd been drawing the EMH crew (and Slendy) as My Little Ponies, after you stopped laughing what would you say their cutie marks would be?

In case you don't know what a cutie mark is, it's the symbol.... thing.... on the Ponies' flanks. Google it up if you like, it shows the world what sort of talent you have and oh god why do I know this I didn't know this until the new series I swear

Evan's is a knife. No contest.
But the others?

lol. I can't wait to see these. Who all are you doing?

Evan - knife
Vin - a beard. Very Happy Don't ask me how you would draw that though...
Jeff - sad panda. or the batman symbol
Alex(if you're including him) - That hat he always seems to be wearing in his videos. or a guitar(he plays, right?)

tehe.

BTW, for those who don't know me, which is everyone, I'm a lurker who occasionally has posted under ForgetIt5 as a guest on the main EMH thread, I just recently registered.
