Yeah, this looks amazingly realistic and authentic... Until you hear the people start talking. Viral marketing people need to consider that script-less swearing doesn't make anyone sound like a real person. Cursing or no, this all sounded very fake and pre-planned.
Other than the bad "script" (or maybe because of it?), this does indeed some like a viral marketing video. And the special truck, police cars, etc would make me think that it is probably from a large budget like the Super 8 movie.

Re: My first trout! This is history!
Well, almost.
I see I need to teach folks how to link, as this isn't the firs time I've seen this. You linked a part of the thread, not the actual post of previous mention. If you look at the URL it ends "start=780", which causes the forum software to spit out a page starting at that post number in the thread. If you look at bottom right of the posts here, there's a date stamp and a little icon of a folded sheet of paper just to the left of that. That icon is a link you can right click and copy to create the proper link to the post, thusly:

Now, that being cleared up, I claim this trout as mine...
And I flounder thee!

This is NOT part of the viral! This is REAL LIFE, people.
I think it's funny that people mistake this video for a part of an ARG. What is real? What isn't?
This is.
There are some things going on IRL that are just as wild as some movie concept. Watch the news. Read peoples tweets.
It's no coincidence that Super 8 is coming out at this time. It's synchronicity. Is it possible that there is a little bit truth in these science fiction movies? The answer is yes!
I frequent nosec.eu on a regular basis. It was uploaded because I found it on youtube.com/izaynelewis and it proved to be fascinating.
Check out his other videos. And other videos of UFO sightings posted on those dates. And then do your research on actual UFO phenomena. Watch the disclosure conference in September 2010. Read about how we're mysteriously losing control over our nukes. It's all building up to something. This is no game. This is no movie. This is REAL.

Errr... thanks Euchre.
I've been around for a while, and had never noticed the little folded paper thingie.
I'll wager some other folks didn't know about it too.

Yea when i first saw this video it screamed skyline viral marketing to me, but i haven't found anything to confirm that story. From what i have read on other forums as suggestions one was it could have been Nuclear waste, which gave me the idea to see where garden grove actual is on the map and it is just east of a Navel weapons station at seal beach, and if i were to venture a guess i would assume it was something from there and if it was lets say a malfunction weapon, that would easily explain all the police presence.

I am with Jupiter, it's a "real life" video some guy made trying to get his 15 minutes of fame. His name is Izayne Lewis and looks like he is a failed rap artist. Just google his name and you will see all the links for his MP3 music downloads.
It looks like the moving company American Heavy Moving does this sort of move pretty often. Looks like they bring these heavy industrial electrical components into the local port by ship and then move them to their destination via the heavy haulers. Here is a video from their website moving the exact same item.
YouTube: Link
This guy has probably seen these trucks before and came up with the idea one day to video tape the transport and act like it was a secret UFO Alien government transport or something. I give him credit, he did a pretty good job! Whats even more amazing is that people actually believe this guy. I never once heard the "Danger" audio in the clip, never saw anyone with masks as they claim, and never saw the UFO that was chasing them. But people blindly follow what people say.

Regarding the UFO incident, check the corresponding vids on this page:
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=garden+grove+ufo&aq=f
From what I've discerned in looking at a number of them is either:
1. A hoax involving a trucker staying at a hotel having furn with a RC airplane with light bar attached.
2. Not a hoax, but the above was disinformation put out--reason for that conclusion? Apparently sometime after the person had been arrested and jailed, additional video of the same thing keep appearing over the skies.
Who knows?

Speaking of... the trailer for Battle: Los Angeles just came out, and reminded me they set up a viral site. Did anyone look into whether or not this is a trailhead? I can't seem to find anything, and I searched the forum and a couple other sites for it... I guess it's not really a game so much as just a fail of viral marketing. Or am I totally missing something?
