I was a asking the same thing at first but I think it's three stages of growth of the tree. The bottom left being the sprout, right hand is the sapling and the top left being the tree. That with the phrase 'from black above' the tree must have something to do with growing/maturing in the night.

Blake just had two new blog posts, the second post is that he started a Twitter feed and can be found at 'www.twitter.com/dendromatters' Only one entry so far, doesn't seem helpful yet. The first post is an update on how Blake is doing. Looks like he is starting to display the same symptoms that David is...not sleeping, phone calls in the night with grinding noises, waking up in strange places without an idea of how he got there, etc. I thought these symptoms had to do with proximity to sleeping near the tree but Blake says he's still at home for the holidays so I guess that theory is out the window.

Blake is also wondering about the seed packages and if we planted them yet. We may have to tell him that no seeds we ever received. I think we should tell him what was in the packets, maybe he can start helping us investigate what Dr Basire is up to and who the burnt letters were intended for.
