Coldthunder, I think it's amazing you cracked that code. I tried it with various substitution methods but nothing helped. Then I thought it might be a sophisticated shifting method like adding a different prime to each number and then mod 26 it. After a while I gave up...

But I'd never have thought they'd decrypt it using a one time pad like in real life. Only thing is real numbers stations only use 0-9 so it's even harder to solve even if you'd know the source for the pad. Probably near impossible so good thing they didn't do that.

Anyway, you said if people were interested you'd write how you figured it out. I'm very interested. Okay, the book came from the outro. But you said the ascension codes were harder, how did you figure them out? Just tried every sentence from the page until it did fit? And how did you know the right edition of the book?


Also, which codes do you have decoded? I guess all those from the Hudson mails?

But what about the codes in the last mission's objective (you get them when you press Esc/Pause)? And in that mission a voice reads numbers and they're not the same as the ones in the objective. While the numbers are read Mason mumbles "Oswald was compromised" - so I guess that's part of the translation of the numbers that are spoken at that time. Might be an interesting message.

If you haven't decoded them yet and are interested in them I could transscribe them from the game and post them here. The problem is there's no echelon or ascension prefix so maybe it's hard to find out.

And while I'm at it with all those questions. I'm currently looking through the files/mails on the computer in the "menu room" of the game. Figuring Hudson's password out was ok, but now I'm stuck. Are the other passwords much harder to figure out or can you find them also in the intel? Browsing through Hudson's mails I found no clue... So where are other clues, in the intel or in the game itself?
