Hey, if the game world has Bound in it, then it has the Wachowski brothers...so it has The Matrix as well? How crazy would that be? Wouldn't the main characters be saying things like, "Man, I feel like I'm in the Matrix!" And they ARE! I don't know why that strikes me as really funny, but it does.
How do you know we aren't? Sounds like the thinking of a machine to me... create two programs and say they are brothers (Andy and Larry), get them to "create" this whole matrix idea and get the films made. That way no one suspects.
I've thought about that a lot... Remember "The Truman Show"? I can't tell you how many days I went around trying to get people to tell me the "truth" about me being the star of some TV show...
Don't worry, I'm just kidding. But I have thought about it....

As Descartes said: "I think, therefore I am."
Wittgenstein went mad trying to prove to Bertrand Russell there wasn't an elephant in the room. I almost tore my hair out trying to prove to my freshman HoSco professor that I existed. It was settled when I told him that if I didn't exist, I wouldn't be able to sell him weed anymore.
So I guess the answer to Cartesian dynamics, as well as glaucoma, is good ol' Mary Jane. Let's all e-roast one and maybe we'll all feel more confident in our own existance.

That's the funniest thing I've seen on this board yet.

I don't think so. I took a little trip, and I think it's quite clear, I was right all along. We saw something, something undeniably related to the whomp on our computers. We sat on our butts, people. We allowed this data to overwhelm us and we never really questioned it. We just sat back and said, "Pass the remote, dude."
Out there, in the open air and away from the hum of the fan, or the whirr of the processor, Random and I saw things you'd never expect, except on Ripley's Believe It or Not.
Could he have been with Beth at the last anomily sighting? Sounds like it at least.
[spec]
What if, just maybe, they were the "kids" Beth talked about that were also there...
Caesar and Random could be two prodigies, perhaps "potentials" or the like? They're good at hacking/cracking and they seem pretty smart...
[/spec]
sorry if this has been said already but maybe the hackers are hacking into beths reality, they may or may not realize it and one of them is the man that she saw at the site where she walked thru the tent..
maybe this is the moment in history where the first person discovered the the existance of the matrix (which has been speced in another thread)

I disagree. I'm pretty convinced that Beth's mystery man is an AI of some sort. In the files contained in Beth's Metadex zip files, which we believe are the man's responses to her questions, the speaker makes the following comment (bear in mind, I don't know html... these are guesses):
object ref="self" class="construct"/> (read: "I am a construct")
and when asked (during Beth's game of 20 questions with the man) whether he is animal, vegetable, or mineral, he responds with:
<datatype name="tmp_enum_1" type="enum">
<member value="animal"/>
<member value="vegetable"/>
<member value="mineral"/>
</datatype>
<response type="tmp_enum_1" value="null"/>
Which I think the "null" value implies "none of the above."

backwards upsidedown? oke doke kinda excited prolly nothing cause i am suffering sleep deprivation but when i am bored at a stop light or where ever I look at billboards and look at them backwards and I also read upside down....
It looks to me like there are upside down letters in that quote in the pic with the watch... I think the watch is upside down(?) to cue us to turn the poetry over.. but not being familar with font I only see upside down e's that are used as a's
m's that are used as w's and visa versa,
lots of eeeeeee eee eeeeeeeeeeees
also I suspect the d is an upside down q but it could just be the font
someone take a look and see
I could just be hallucinating

Is it java script? I don't know, all I know is basic and a touch of C++
The script basically sets up a variable and checks whatever he is (a program?) against...
1.) animal (false, no value passed to the variable)
2.) vegetable (false, still no value)
3.) mineral (again, flase, still no value)
So then at the end when it tries to spit the value of the variable out, there isn't a value in there, so it just returns 'null'

and as i finished posting my spec and going on to something else I realized that I had forgotten the subplot of the AI and I am aligned with your idea.... my brain is comfortably numb
