I was part of the chat when the name change was going on. People came up with a list of five names for whoever is in control of Josh's account now. IIRC, Emet means 'truth'. I forgot what 'Rotter' means.

A late theory: what if Josh, Alana and Austin aren't playing pieces in the Angel's game, but spaces on the board? That'd explain why it's sometimes quite hard to tell who is possessing who - the possessing entities move about the "board" as part of their game so they don't consistently possess the same person.

'Rotter' is slang, chiefly British, meaning a worthless, unpleasant, or despicable person

and yes, 'Emet' means truth -- it is the word written upon the forehead of a golem to give it life.

So Dr Cairo (the CompileTRUTH guy) just posted a blog post about the chat in which the name change happened and he's put forward the idea that Josh, on hearing of Alana's death, attempted suicide; the Dweller tried to stop him by possessing him but failed, resulting in *both* of them dying and giving Emet the chance to take over.

Two things:
- Can anyone else who was in the group chat confirm what the deal is here? Is Cairo repeating facts that the chatters have been told directly? Or is this just a theory? If it is a theory, how convincing do you find it? (If a transcript of the chat could be put here - or at least somewhere that isn't Facebook - that'd be grand.)
- If this is true... then that's terrifying. I especially don't like the idea of this Emet guy. Seems like some entity that was never meant to be in the game but has found a way to break in thanks to the Dweller making a hash of saving Josh. If the actual game-players are this bad (and as far as I can tell they include characters like Slendy and freakin' baghead, for crying out loud), the people who they don't allow to play might be even worse. They might not even play by the rules.

...Lanz, Emet was one of the names i suggested. someone else suggested Rotter. the other names voted upon were: Jubileus, Remiel, and Met.

the names Emet and Met are Hebrew in origin, Emet meaning Truth and Met meaning Death. one writes 'Emet' on the forehead of a golem to bring it to life, and erases the 'e' to change Truth into Death and deactivate it.

Emet and Rotter got the most votes, with Emet leading.
