Hey, I've been following this ARG from the beginning, but this is my first time posting.
I've read the whole thread through, but didn't see any mentioning of this. Josh said in the chat session that he has a cylinder with three dots on it. Could those be the same three dots like on the ID cards? It would just confirm that the cylinder is somehow connected to either these men or at least their workplace.

Yes, we suppose, these 3 dots have connections between the cylinder and the ID-cards. The question is, which significance does it have.

ID Cards I measured each card and all 4 have the same dimensions. So no one is larger or smaller than the other. If I am guessing correctly, then the Image ID tells what department they worked. And if the middle initials of the Image ID are names then it could be said that the 23 is Mr. Minker. Maybe all of the other ID's are RED HERRINGS... Maybe we need to concentrate on the one with the MHC. Maybe that's the way mysterio is telling Josh this is your dad. This is his proof, lame as it may be. It shows Josh the 3 dots, an ID with initials he may recognize. And I seem to agree that the TROGL is a reference to groom lake. It also makes me think that these men may still be alive simply because their pictures have been removed. If they went into hiding or went underground then showing their pictures may flush them out or blow their cover.

If Mystery-O is indeed the one who posted the ID Tags, does that mean he also posted everything else involved with Braegen? The audio Files.. the newspaper.. the sound bytes..etc.. I have a hard time believing this for some reason. Granted the Chat was between the two, does that mean that they were both chatting via this system? If so, how are the two systems connected? they didnt have internet back then...
Sorry for all of the open endedness..
the chat session and the files took place "live" the film is set in the 1970s not the stuff happening on hlm / sties

Binary Translations I've been playing around with the ID badge measurement numbers 252522262622 and the blank file RSOO01 and came up with a couple of things that may or may not mean anything. Before I spend any more time on them I need some other opinions.
First, I put the 252522262622 into the TEXT box a binary converter and encoded. Screen capture:
Next, I took the binary and put it into my address bar and enter. This took me to a Google results page with the first hit being to clues at The Lost Experience Lostpedia - The Lost Encyclopedia which is a post talking about how someone used a binary to text to hex translation to find a location. Here's a link:
http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/The_Lost_Experience_clues/September_14
The other thing I did is a little more complicated to explain. The empty RSOO01 file has been bothering me. So I saved it as an .xps file. Then I selected all, copied and pasted into a new word doc. It still looks like nothing, but I dragged my cursor through the page and it looked like something is there. Here's a pic:
I messed around with fonts. When putting it in MS Reference Specialty font, I was able to use the text highlighter (I used yellow) and get a column of four rectangles. Another pic:
Next I copied the rectangles and pasted them into the TEXT box of the binary converter. It looks like nothing is there, but the cursor moves down. I hit encode and some figures appeared in the TEXT box with translations in binary, hex, etc. Screen capture:
I copied the TEXT figures and pasted them back into a word doc and got four squares with ? marks in them. Pics in Arial Unicode MS and Calibri:
Next I took the binary translation of this and put it into my address bar and hit enter. This took me to 'Pi in binary' website links. One of these links is to a website for the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (part of the US Dept. of Energy) where you can search the first four billion binary digits of Pi for a string in hex (4 bit, 0-9A-F) or character (5 bit, a-z:;,_-.) format. The results give the binary portion of Pi that spells the term that was searched. Link:
http://pi.nersc.gov/
(I hope I'm explaining this well enough.)
Anyhow, I was thinking if we can come up with the right hex or character string to enter into the binary Pi search, maybe that will give us a new string of binary that we can make use of as a binary url or to translate into a location like the lostpedia game or something. But this is driving me crazy!
Anybody have any ideas on this? Even if you just think it's a nutty waste of time – then SOMEBODY STOP ME!!!

I think you might be barking up the wrong binary tree.
Has anyone done a raw dump of the file?
There's really no such thing as a 'zero byte file', since if there's a file there is data. When there are really zero bytes, there's just nothing. When there's a file that says its zero bytes, there's a file header saying it contains nothing. However, the header is also saying something, because it would be saying 'I'm a file of type X, with no content'. If we get a raw dump of the file as binary (or maybe even hex/octal/whatever) we might be able to at least tell what the file really thinks it is, regardless of the file name.

Sorry, I'm an over-analyzer by nature – thus the over-interpretation. It's kind of like breathing for me. (It's why I like movies like Source Code, too.)
I'll try to keep the barking to a minimum.

Two if by sea;
Three if binary!
I'm getting source on the bottom of my feet...
looks like I need to stay in out of the code!

Rocket Mountaineer, no problems!
Actually brain storming is the most efficient tool we have here in forums. So perhaps we even should spin our idea more and more, but also to keep in mind these are just ideas
So keep the barking, I'll also join you
