Alternative Names for Him

Hey all, over on the Penny Arcade forums we had this weird twitter account that was bugging one of the posters, it was obviously about Slenderman. He has since deleted his twitter account.

During his posts her referred to a "Daddy Long Legs", his name for Slenderman. This thread isn't about that guy, but it got me thinking that a lot of these newer stories could be served well by giving Slenderman there own name, because you know, in theory they should never have heard of him (most of the time anyway).

I'll begin:

1. Kingpin - His suit could be considered a gangster's get-up
2. Mortician - Likewise, perhaps it is an undertaker's uniform
3. The Quiet Man - He's as silent as he is thin
4. Red Death - A Poe reference, Masque of the Red Death has a little in common with Slenderman
5. Big Bad - As in the wolf, and I think Buffy the Vampire Slayer used that phrase a lot
6. Mr. Static - If he effects cameras in the story, its as good a name as any

Any thoughts?

Oh man, Masque. You're making me want to break out my Poe collection again, I'm sure I have it here somewhere.

Personally I would refer to Slenderman as "excuse me, what are you doing on my film setOHSHITWHERE'SYOURFACE". I dunno, though, that might be a bit clunky in the eventual credits.

More seriously, I like the idea of Tree Man or something less generic. It could refer to his stalking ground, or even to the man himself, if like I do you imagine him as all branchy and stuff.

I've come up with a few names for Slenderman over time. Some of my favorites are:

Tall, Dark, and Faceless
Our Slender Stalker
Slenders
Thin One
Giggles
Faceless Dan
The Classy Hobo(long story)
Tent. A. Cules.
The Neighborhood Watcher

And so on and so forth. None of them are terribly clever, but they get by.

I think the Operator is still my favorite alternative, though Joesph/Alex calling him their "Tall Antagonist" made me lol.
Also partial to the old school SA names like Der Ritter and Der GroBman

I've adopted Mr. Thin after reading around these forums a bit. Playing around with the mythos myself, though, I've started thinking of him as a relative of the Terrible Trivium.

Reminds me of 'The Blank' from Dick Tracy.

I really like the Groβmann name, always have. Here are some half decent ones:

1. Harvester
2. Wall Flower
3. Grigori - a form of watching angel in some languages, a kind of Greek vampire to boot
4. The Great Old One - for a Lovecraft pastiche
5. The Director - Specially for a film, lets face it, the cast is always doing what he wants, following his clues
6. Spindle - As in the long, thin needle
7. The Collector
8. Mr. Catch - For a scare children sort of story/boogeyman

I think he needs more Tree Symbolism

Mr. Roots
(Oh, and more Mr.'s, because since part of the mythos is normally him stalking people he scared as children, and children often give Titles like Mr.)
Treefingers
The One Who Stalks

Wow. That was pretty crappy.
