Murder Your Maker
Prototype 2 teaser/ARG

A teaser site has been found recently. It seems to point to an announcement at the spike video game awards. The teaser is only 5 seconds but there seems to be a lot of text in it so I thought I'd put up the link and some screenshots.

someone broke down all the rumours of what video game Murder Your Maker could be attached to, alluding that the case for Resident Evil has an Achilles heel:

a few strange notes

There is a Buro Bangladesh bank but not a Buro Bank

"Stephen Harper PM"...er, there is a Stephen Harper who is the Prime Minister of Canada Twisted Evil

gawddayum.

They made the video private and removed it from the website. Worst thing is I totally saved the video to extract every frame as a JPEG. But I deleted it a while ago.

Hello, I am the editor who posted that article, just wanted to let you guys know, that, whatever the game is, it's definitely something related to Prototype. The trailer has images from the first game in the franchise and everything fits perfectly, it might not be a direct sequel, but MURDER YOUR MAKER is part of that franchise. I hope you liked the article, and if you did, keep coming back to the site, we love getting to know our readers, just visit the home page for all the current gaming news. Here's a link to the article about the video: http://news.tgn.tv/prototype-2-murder-your-maker/

Many MANY copies on youtube, I did the same thing :p

Here's a version of that one image with the random code enhaced to read better, and I typed up what I could read from frames 55 and 56, I skipped anything unreadable but the question marks are part of it
Code:
Baker U 899615 2 K <symbol>  CA 020661  020709
Stephen Harper PM CONNEO BETA9 CC 47/9 1027?? 012370
Ronnie Blain L B. 36908 _8159 TC 28/3 03/223 03/823
Benders REC 2641033 148 3/16 11/  /14   /30/24

N67 ACCESS ABVE

Update: Found something in the audio's spectrum (or I'm seeing things) going to play with it a bit.

wow great job!! i cant believe how clear you got it, i worked on it for awhile, and never got the image that readable

eta: i knew before that the first part of the code was zczc

but nothing really fit it for all the decrypters i tried because it would just mean ABAB..etc...and there is very few words in english (if any) that fit that pattern (if someone does know a word like that (i mean standard english) then i will give them a silver dollar)

so I decided to google it

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
zczc= Start of Message (radioteletype)

so i searched for more and it brought me this post http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090212231355AAA61hD

which explains:

the section that starts with TL? and on is really the

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Routing channel and serial numbers

which makes the Jpjx:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the country routing code

co =
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

"Ordinary telegram"

monk?? would be

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

"originating country code"

and 01* =

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"chargeable words"

so i haven't been able to find the country codes but i assume

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
jp=japan

and

mo=macau

but that doesn't make much sense (and i did search "wo" but there is none)

>.<

I swear to CRAP that if they put up a website that I have to sit there with some crappy flash website and work my way through literally 1000 combinations again, I'm going to be pissed.

The worst part was that after I did all that, they realized what a dumb thing it was, and fixed it so everything was out in the open. I was displeased.

Then they got me in trouble with youtube for recording and posting the videos from the site and posting them there.

Thanks, Activision. You know, I wouldn't have had to do that if you hadn't made such an idiotic puzzle.

Actuall,y when it's someone sitting there doing 1000 combinations, it's no longer a puzzle. It's just a brute-force attack. Why was it 1000 combinations? Most of the items were revealed with two numbers. Some were with three numbers. There were ten digits. Was there anythign with 4? no, not as I recall- I think it blinked out if you tried. Didn't matter- I was damned if I was going to do 10,000 combinations.
