We just got the date of when our daughter will be born and it'll be a C-section on Dec 17th at 6:30am.

So I told her I would go return my tickets for the midnight showing for the night before. Basically her answer was "You had better go to that movie, not only have you had the date circled for two years, but you've been playing that Flynn Lives game for over a year. You have to go!"

Seriously? How awesome is that girl...?

So have you considered "Quorra" for a name? Wink

Or Olivia Smile

But really Christien, if you can do the midnight show, make sure you get back there for her. She's awesome to let (happily 'approve'?) you go see the movie... it's good they shouldn't overlap Smile don't let them overlap! hehe But srsly, in the real world, as neat as Quorra would be, Olivia's a little more feasible Wink that, or your wife's name Cool

Not to sound all clinical... I remember, like it was yesterday, the wave of protective instincts that washed over me when my first was being delivered after a long labor and the doctor said, "congratulations, it's a girl.".

But if it's a planned c-section, things generally happen pretty fast and there really isn't a lot for the dad to do.

On the other hand... Reputable physicians don't plan C-sections "just because", so there may be other factors at play dictating that you be there. Also... Fatigue tends to muddy a given experience. Like being up all night for a Black Friday event and being so punchy, you hardly remember what it was you'd come for.

Of course, of course. If for some reason at the last minute she is not feeling good and changes her mind, I'm OK with that. I'll have my phone on vibrate so if I get 'page' during the film, I'm outta there.

I threw them both out there to see what she thought...
She said "Just enjoy the movie. Don't push it." Surprised

Well there are 2 reasons, in both cases there are not emergency situations.
First, our first child was a C-section, so usually when you have one, you then always have them from then on.
Second, the doctor had to move the date up by 2 weeks 'cause he wanted to take a vacation over the holidays.

True. I used to do all-nighters and stuff all the time, so back in the day I could do this whole weekend standing on my head. But it's been a few years since I did those kind of things, so I'm re-thinking it a bit.

That was one of the first movies I asked for on tape and we had a beta player.

I still remember the advertisements for "Condorman"

Just returned from our midnight screening of Legacy here in the Boston area and had a blast. This was my third time seeing the new movies this week and this time we (2old2play) were able to host a table in the theater lobby and pass out TRON SWAG (and get a little as well). We had over 600 TRON Night posters given to us by the marketing team working on the various promotions in our area. As I opened one of the boxes, I noticed something different about the posters.

In with the boxes of the standard "Sam & Quorra" TRON Night posters was a box of 50 with the Clu on the back. I told my guys to put those aside for now. I hope to distribute these to some of my Unfiction peeps, but will have to wait until after I get all the Flynn Lives buttons out (so please don't pm about the posters right now).

I was also able to score a few extra TRON Legacy IMAX pins. These were produced by Disney specifically for IMAX employees and are rather hard to come by. The even have the mouse backings for the pins. Anyway, I have four spares and have posted in the SWAG thread for those who are interested.

One of my friends who attended the screening tonight is a fellow collector of arcade cabs and presented me with a little early Christmas present. This is the arcade flyer for the the original TRON game. Very cool gift as I have been looking for one of these in good condition for some time.

Overall it was a great night and a wonderful way to end my amazing TRON week. Now I am exhausted and must sleep.
