Slenderprank
Leaving Marble Hornets videos burnt to DVD in public areas

Had an idea today. I just got my hands on a small batch of blank DVDs. Nobody else in my college watches Slenderman series, and I haven't spread the word all that much, so, I figure, why not leave edited Marble Hornets entries or totheark videos in public areas, denoted by the Operator Symbol, as a sort of prank? Alternatively, I could do this with other Slendy series.

Note, I haven't actually done anything yet, but, I wanted to run this idea by you Unforumgoers, and see what the rest of the fanbase thought. Might be good for a laugh.

Interesting for sure. Kind of a viral marketing sort of thing. You'd have to cut the videos to some sort of trailer or something, or make it a totheark video, then tack the youtube channel at the end or something.

Well, my plan was to get the videos off Youtube with Freecorder, then cut the bits with J's text from them using some editing software. Then burn each Entry to a specific DVD, and leave them somewhere.

I figure it'd be a cool way to bring new viewers to the series, now you mention the viral marketing thing. Even though I'm not doing any real work with the stuff; I just figure I could mess with a few people like this for fun. Might do it with other series, too.

Actually, you could probably just burn the whole MH series to disk- put the TTA replies in the right places. Maybe write a URL at the end/beginning 'for more info'.

I don't think you could do that with any other series.. TT would require prior knowledge, and EMH not only has too much content, you just couldn't include twitter/tumblr info.

and i haven't been keeping up with any other series, so.. that's my 3 cents.

Now that i've been ninja'd- i wouldn't cut the txt from the video. Without the text, most people wouldn't sit through it, pay enough attention to catch the background slenders. I'd do it as the whole series... i think you should be able to fit it..

Well, I'm kind of a jerk, I guess, but, it's about messing with some people 'for teh lulz', rather than actually telling the Marble Hornets story. I'll get around to telling whoever starts finding the videos what's what eventually, but only after I've had a few laughs.

Yes, I'm kind of twisted that way. These people have no clue what's about to happen. One friend who knows about MH is in on it, and will help me out with this. I'm just trying to have some fun, here. I figure I'll slip the Marble Hornets twitter and Youtube account addresses in there at some point, but, that's a whole different story.

Well, i don't even see it as messing with people. The majority of the entries, missing the texr- just aren't going to hold much attention on their own. I mean, other then entry one and three.. most of the first half( off the top of my head).. if i picked up as a dvd, put it in, i'd stop paying attention within 2 min.

If you just did the totheark videos, or EMH's phantom videos, they could still freak people out. The main MH videso wouldn't work without text, though.

Kay, well, Entry 1 and Introduction are already burnt to DVD, immediately followed by the other eight Entries before Regards. I will report results. It's slated for a guy in my Calc class, sits right next to me. I just need to leave it in a place he'll find. I figure I'll see results or hear of them shortly. Wish me luck, all. Twisted Evil

Aren't you infringing upon some copyright laws here?
