Neill Blomkamp mysterious teaser from Wired magazine

Hi everyone! Seen this from a tweet a few minutes ago... apparently it's a teaser for Neill Blomkamp's next movie.

Haven't been here for a while, so searched a bit of the threads and didn't find this here yet, so appologies in advance if it is.

Here's the link: http://www.sfx.co.uk/2010/11/23/is-this-a-teaser-trailer-for-district-9-director%E2%80%99s-next-film/

Video:

Creepy!

Even if it is a real teaser, don't know if there's a game in there or not, but worth a look Smile

Here is what I've discovered. 18.12 is the number of the issue of WiReD that this video appears in. I did some searching and found out that a Beverly Hills-based company named Sable Productions Ltd. filed for the trademark "AGM Heartland" on October 18th 2010. The trademark use is labeled as:

Entertainment services by way of an online website with video, audio and textual content and images featuring characters and storylines about a fictional genetic engineering company that produces genetically engineered and altered organisms

Sure sounds like an ARG, don't it? Somehow I think there's a website out there to be found...

ETA: The filed trademark...

Neat!
Genetic experimentation? Alien genetics Science? Escape from Area 51?
The guys are idiots though for touching a dead creature, especially soaking in water - terrestrial or not. I mean really, germs and bacteria, disease and death? *tsk*

ETA: d'oh, nighthawk! genetic experimentation it is then, it seems. Neil seems to focus more on morality issues and realism in sci-fi than just the stereotypical sci-fi, which is awesome.

Seems interesting! Fired off an email to them, asking about their motto. Let's see if they reply to any of us.

However the URL doesn't seem to want to work. It redirects back to http://agmheartland.com/post/1677600347/connectivity-one-life-at-a-time with an Error.

I've emailed them very discretely and said nothing about the Stamped alien.

Healthier eating, regular exercise, scientific or Governmental help etc. A friend of mine pointed me in the direction of your Twitter page and I have to say your first post only yesterday really peaked my interest.

What exactly does AGM Heartland do, to "Improve our way of life" and how exactly can I for one, support this!?

Please get back to me as soon as is possible for you. I look forward to receiving your email,

I'm VERY skeptical because that's the first domain I tried and there was nothing there when the video came out.

November 24th was AFTER the video.

Until I see something very convincing, it could very well be a "gamejack" or someone who jumped on the domain.

The page says 'Under Construction' actually and it appears to be related. I see no reason to worry about gamejacks.

Yep, I'm with Nighthawk, registration after the video got out is very suspicious, I'm calling both the site and twitter account fake.

Would you launch a viral campaign with an "Under Construction" page? You're just asking to be forgotten about if you don't have something for people to look at day one.

And what, besides the domain name and an equally suspicious Twitter account, makes it related?

And the fact that that page links to the a relatively unknown two man design shop in San Francisco isn't all that comforting.

Let's just sit back and see what becomes of it. Anyway, I just don't see a reason to hijack an ARG which hasn't even started yet. I'm gonna stick to the good old Occam's razor.

I agree that the registration date looks suspicious. However, another explanation could be that they're just not very professional. That's certainly happened before, too. What I find annoying is that the site is already down. I had to use the Google cached version to see what it was about.
