 		Legacy/ARG Countdown Raffle
Drawings finished and winner list posted.
With the movie release date coming near I want to take another stab at this. First of all I want to apologize for not making any updates for this in quite a while; been exceedingly busy with school. Now on to the main subject. As many of you who were following the raffle previously know, we had to cancel the previous raffle due to the legalities of charging for raffle tickets (even if the revenue went to pay shipping and donations to the site).

In order to get this raffle back up and running, I want to make it completely free. Upon winning I will give you the contact information for the person who pledged your prize so that you can work out a fair shipping address/cost of shipping. The prizes will consist mainly of Tron swag/merchandise items pledged by Unfiction members. However, if you have any other swag you may have picked up from other ARGs' feel free to throw them into the pot. I have removed all previous pledges for prizes, and will be attempting to contact their owners to see if they wish to re-pledge the items for the new raffle. Now on to the raffle details.

Raffle Details:
    - For fairness each member will get one raffle ticket.
    - To ensure people are not just making accounts to enter multiple times I will require that no accounts made after yesterday will be allowed to enter (11/2/2010).
    - This membership cutoff date will be waved providing that you are pledging a prize to the raffle. (Note that should you win a item, it will not be sent out until your pledge has been verified shipped to it's winner. This is to avoid people trying to fake pledge items to enter the raffle).
    - If any prizes remain after all names have been drawn, then I will throw the names back in and start a fresh drawing with the remaining prizes.
    - In the event that payment is not made for shipping, or contact cannot be made with a winner after 15 days I will re-draw for that prize and inform the next winner.
    - For those winners who wish to have a chance of their prize showing up to take along to opening night I will be holding the drawing on Dec 01 2010 .
    - No entries permitted after 11:59pm Nov 30 2010

    To enter you will need to send me a PM informing me of your interest in the raffle. Please use "Raffle Entry" as your subject line. Also, include your preferred method of contact in the event of winning.


Pledging Prizes Information
    As I stated above, the more prizes the more fun. If you are a kind enough soul to pledge a prize to the raffle then this information is for you. And on behalf of all Unfiction members, Thank You.

    PM any prize pledgings to me, and I will update the prize list. (let me know if you want to be anonymous, otherwise I will post your name).
    Please include your preferred method of contact so that I can supply that to the winner of your prize upon completion of the raffle.
    It will be up to you and the winner to decide on the best method of payment/shipping.

    Please be fair to all entrants and only pledge items you are truly willing to give up. (No false pledges)
    If for some reason you absolutely have to retract a pledge then please attempt to inform me before the end of the raffle.

 		I am willing to donate an item, but does it have to be from Tron? I have been participating in the recent Dexter ARG and picked up the New York drop. I can't give away the jacket (my wife glommed onto it) but I still have the thumbdrive from the game. It's 2 gigs, so it's at least worth a couple of dollars even ignoring sentiment.

I don't see why we can't expand this to cover more arg related prizes. It will give more chances of winning, and I'm sure no one can complain about that =D.

 		It should be fine I think, as long as you'd be willing to pay a bit more for shipping than the local US members. However, if the ticket sales manage to cover even the raised overseas shipping costs then I will make sure to budget it in. =D


Oh and if anyone has any issues with the whole PayPal thing, let me know. As I said this is my first time using PayPal to receive money so wanna make sure there wasn't something I had to do that I didn't. Think I got it good though.

 		Alright, looks like this is gonna kick off pretty good. Getting some nice pledges from our great members. I am currently in the process of building a database to keep up with all ticket purchases, pledges, and winners. Wanna keep all this as organized as possible.

 		Well I got a little carried away in Photoshop and designed tickets for the raffle. I plan on using them as visual receipts for when people purchase tickets from me. As you can see the one below is my receipt for tickets one through five. Printed one of these up and it looks pretty damn legit. For some reason it only prints good when I print outta Photoshop though. If I save it as a jpg like below and try and print its low quality and the sizing is off. Oh wells lol.

Hmm that could work as well. I'll check into it later. I'm not really too worried since I can print it perfectly from Photoshop. I just wanna get it to print the same as a finished image so that if anyone else wants to print them up they can. It looks pretty real until you notice its just on printer paper and has no back.

Thanks, it seemed like it would be fun. A lot of credit needs to go to our prize pledgers. Without them this raffle would be nothing.

 		I hate to rain on your parade but I don't think we can support this raffle here. Raffles are considered to be games of chance by many states and there are usually strict regulations on who may hold them and how they must be conducted. In Oregon, where uF is based, only charitable and religious groups may hold raffles and they must be licensed by the state ahead of time. I would strongly urge you to check your local laws regarding raffles, sweepstakes, and other sorts of contests, especially if you plan to charge for entries (this is where the big problems start).

In that case, maybe we should auction the items and donate the proceeds (after shipping costs) to UF? Or donate the items to UF to auction themselves?

I know that I personally lust after an EOL poster.
