Yep, this is definitely going to be something.

Take the tapestry and divide it into an 18x18 matrix. You will notice that each of these cells is repeated throughout the puzzle.

Substitute the symbols for letters, and then do a substitution cypher. I'm about 1/2 way through changing the symbols to letters...

It's much more ungodly time-consuming than I expected!

well chance, you have at least 5 people sitting on the edges of there seats here. So if you know of a way to have more people work on it, then you have plenty of other brains waiting to help :)

OK, here's the first little tidbit of the sub. cipher:

A BCHE FJGF DM KGK FLMNFOK MSP GWK A

I'm almost positive A = either I or A

A BCHE FJGF DM KGK FLMNFOK MSP GWK A QSMRK PSO MAPL JORTU V KSWXF BCSE EJOLY OZSY FS

I ran out of letters, so I think I might be making it more complicated than it is. Some of these are just the same symbols rotated, but I've been treating them as different. I'll keep posting progress...

It's good to see so much progression on this as I log on this morning!

Anything I can do to help? I might try some rot/other simple substitution on what you have so far.

Yes, I know some are duplicate letters, some are just reversed, etc. I'm currently working on cleaning and fixing it up.

Update with all the letters filled in. There's still some cleanup work to be done, but start on those ciphers, folks!

I'm pretty sure the spaces are correct, but there's a slight chance they're letters and some other letter is a space...

Hmm, nothing obvious from that.

Why not use numbers instead of letters, then figure out words from the patterns i.e. doubles more likely to be e, o, s, l etc, most common number = 'e'

Wish I didn't have to work!
