he was leaving the room though, why would he turn on the computer?

and why didn't he ask the front desk where he was, or at least look at the 'local sights' rack that was surely in the front desk area? D:

would have helped him figure out where he was.

the noise also could have been something in the room over.

They seem to have upped the aesthetics, production value and shot composition.

This is - as I hoped - a huge step forward when it comes to filmmaking!!

Guys, kudos!! This is great!! You promised no more fillers, and I know you'll achieve it!! Twisted Evil

The multiple handicams, the hidden-cam harness, they've certainly got quite the budget this time around.

Immediately I went to Youtube to check, and as I predicted there was Entry 27, looking new and clean and just wanted some love. So I went "OMGOMGOMG" and gave it that.

Now I'll be honest: the fact that he can't remember seven months of his life DOES kinda feel like jumping the shark to me, but I'm willing to see where this goes. Other than that, gotta love the atmosphere MH sets. Happy to see it back Very Happy

J was obviously brainwashed into an assassin and intentionally wiped his own memories so that the evil international conspiracy couldn't get their hands on the legendary artifact said to grant immortality, the marble hornet.

looks too blurry to read anything from to me

there's a clear(ish) shot of the keycard to get into his room but i dont know if it's possible to figure out where the hotel is based on that. i'm not sure if his current location is completely relevant (yet) as he could easily have found out and said in the video.

i noticed the phone was left off the hook so whatever reason he checked into the hotel, he didnt want to be contacted by anyone. whether that was for a specific reason (creepy phone calls? something more malevolent?) or a paranoid habit he had developed remains to be seen. don't recall anything involving phones before.

Good to be back! and I hope to be able to keep up with discussion from day one for Season Two. Felt so great just to see "Entry #27" in that plain white text on black. Awesome.

Solid entry for an introduction. I wasn't expecting any Operator/TTA sightings. This is the stage setter; new environment, new story, a new Jay (Perhaps we'll get a little character development? A more tenacious Jay? A more paranoid one?), and new rules.

I wouldn't mind new characters, but they still have a lot of potential exploration done with the previous seasons cast that I'd like to see a bit more of before we moved on.

-On Jay hiding information; Of course! In-game, we aren't the only ones watching. TTA is watching. Revealing what he knows just puts him at greater risk then he already is. He has to balance revealing information to keep us informed, but also keep his own hand covered so he's not just TTA's chew-toy any more then he already is.

The only reason, I'd imagine, that Jay would continue to post videos of his exploits would be as "confirmation" that they happened; he's sharing memories that he may/has already lost, but if he knows other people are atleast partially in on it, then it probably helps keep him focused.

As for not checking tapes in the cameras, I personally wouldn't want to get down to the nitty-gritty after waking up with no memory of the last seven months. I'd want a chance to just figure out whats going on before getting back down to business.

I'm really interested in the laptop. Is it Jay's? It looks to be a Netbook; which would make sense if some mysterious party bought something for him that was light, portable, and cheap to edit together footage and upload videos.

I'm surprised no one else caught onto this, but, just for reference, Jay's room appears to be 211. Just something for people who are keeping notes incase some more numerology comes back into play.

The fisheyed chest-cam is an interesting piece of gear that I think is worth discussing further. It's kind of ingenius, because if Jay happens to pass out and TTA tries to take his camera off, he'll be wearing a jacket over it, lying on it; he'll have to remove the strap or somehow take the camera off it it. Basically, if someone wants to take Jay's camera to mess around/delete footage, they're going to have to work a lot harder then taking it out of his hand or a tripod. Maybe Jay's wearing a wire? Smile

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say it's something Alex gave him, assuming he found him and they got split up again.

Does the fish-eye lens provide any advantages? A wider field of vision perhaps?

Who else is pumped for footage of a sleep walking Jay wandering around?

One of the first things I noticed was how professionally shot it looked, I mean it wasn't the standard fare of "omg guys I just woke up, wuz goin on?". We come in and we see it all from J's angle. At first I thought they were moving away from the handheld/homemade nature of the original series and having a third party "cameraman" filming the crew or having us see the whole thing "through the eyes" of the cast - turns out the camera is just strapped to his chest, how perfectly normal...

The camera is obviously of a higher quality than the one in Season 1 aswell, the pictures are much clearer.

It will be interesting to see if other characters wear the chest-mounted camera, will make some scenes really dramatic I think.

The first road at 2:30 is New Watermelon Road in Tuscaloosa, AL
The second road is R.Cardinal Airport Road in Tuscaloosa, AL
(I live in the area)
Since locations haven't been too important yet, if you want the satellite images, you know what to do.

Man, it's going to be hard keeping up with both Marble Hornets AND the overall Slender Man thread, but I'm going to do my best.

But yeah...nice little entry to get us started. I wasn't sure what to expect after seven months, but I'm looking forward to this. The fish-eye thing is an interesting idea.

If he can't remember the last 7 months how does he know he didn't post those pictures.
