like deciduous versus... whatever the other kind is?

i'm wondering if they're actually in a new area or if they're still in alabama.
it was alabama, right?

Er... on-topic speculations. >.>;

The TV: The *thump thump, thump thump* sounding like a heartbeat may be coincidence. Older CRT TVs make popping noises when they turn on/off, and this one was doing it as fast as a CRT can with a remote. The real question is why was it on in the first place, and was it making that noise all night? Remember, the chest-cam was running before he woke up, so there's all that footage (and the ones from the "watch-you-sleep" cam) that hasn't been explored yet. If this starts the same time he wakes up, there's more to it that leans toward paranormal slendy-shenanigans. A test of the TV to see if it would still have the same problems if he turned it back on would have been nice, but oh well. I was half concerned that might be the end of a tape or something, but it doesn't make sense for it to be that. Doesn't mean that the distortion or spookyness surrounding a tape in there couldn't have broken the TV, but it shouldn't make a difference to the immediate investigation until Jay says "Oh, btw found this tape in the TV. Let's watch!"

The rest of the tape does appear to be pretty straight forward, but I can't help but think that the place where he went to film (where the fence was) is going to come back and be important. Seems like a random place to stop and film... and maybe that's all it was. Or perhaps it was something in Jay's subconscious that was trying to remind him of where he'd been or what he'd been running from. Just a thought, no credence or substance to it yet.

Indeed. Especially the popping; CRT was the term I was looking for earlier, actually, I'm glad you cleared that up.

Moving on to the chest-cam, how much film can a camera tape really hold? A digital camera, even? How many continuous hours of footage can it store, and, if it was turned on and left to run all night, would it really remain recording by the time he woke up?

So much to speculate on.

I'll save further questions for the next entry. There's just too much unanswered for formulating.

I'm more familiar with smaller cards holding a TON of still photos, but I'm honestly not sure with the video camera. Either way, the camera that covered the room should be able to pinpoint a time where the TV started to bug out... and possibly capture whatever caused it.

But you bring up an interesting point. If it had been recording all night, shouldn't the camera have run out of film/memory before he woke up, and not captured what happened that morning? Or did something start it when he woke up? It couldn't have been Jay, because he had no idea where the thing came from and (we have to assume) that this is the first he's going to remember of the camera. It wouldn't make sense for him to turn on the camera, wait a few seconds, and then go to find out what was making the noises and be able to shut it off.

Not to mention, he drives way out to the middle of Assclown, Alabama, with the harness gear chugging right along at full capacity, and then goes back to the hotel.

He may have turned it on just moments before getting into the bed and snapping out of his trance, or perhaps it was activated by remote, synchronized to turn on the EXACT moment his trance wore off. The amount of conjecture I'm coming up with is astounding and infuriating, because none of it means anything at this point |:{ NEED MOAR

dv tapes hold about an hour of footage, iirc, which is what alex was using. it's why there were so many, and why he set his watch to go off when he needed to put a new one in.

if jay is using tapes then i don't think there's a way he could have gotten the whole night on film without waking up periodically to change the tapes in the chest cam- the larger camera on the stand looks like it can hold larger tapes, meaning more recording time.

ofc, if he's using SD cards then i would imagine that there's a great deal more recording time available.

I've been contemplating the chest-cam a lot. For a few reasons... I feel that him finding it strapped to him and he just kind of goes with it to be a little meta-gaming on his part, but I'm willing to let it slide. The PMs of the game know a lot better than I do where they plan to take Jay's character, and they did an amazing job on the first one. I trust they'll do this right.

In means of practicality, I get the feeling that it's a hidden camera. When he passed the girl in the hallway, she made no attempt to look at it at all. When he first stirs in the morning, we can clearly see a blinking red light. I think that the hoodie he wears keeps it fairly covered. To add to that though, the camera must be small. The camera on the recording stand would not do too well if you tried to strap it to somebody's chest. I *almost* want to say it's like a regular still-image digital camera with the video turned on, but 1.) It'd never hold enough footage to be of use, 2.) The battery would drain way too quickly, and 3.) No fish-eye lens for your run of the mill digital (unless you're talking SLR, which would be noticeable strapped to somebody.)

We need a response vid or more Entries. I'm going nuts only having like... 3 things to pull apart. @.@

I'm not trolling, I'm seriously offended that someone would delete my expressions of free speech. It's not my fault that Gentleman Caller is a total assclown.

When you signed up for this website, you agreed to a terms of service. If you don't abide by these terms of service, you are literally forfeiting any rights granted you by whatever constitutions or laws your country grants you. You signed a contract; Your rights, and my rights, don't mean shit in the eyes of Unfiction. Or Invisionfree, or Zetaboards, or your school or place of employ.

Ah, but is it not true that language is merely an extended metaphor? The word 'tree' is not a tree, it merely represents a tree. These 'terms of service' to which I supposedly 'agreed to' are rendered meaningless when considering that all language is merely a metaphor interpreted by an observer. Who is to say if I gathered the correct connotation from these terms, or if I even understood the terms as the writers intended? By this argument, I consider these terms to be meaningless, and I further posit that my rights (which do not hinge on the bill of rights, but in fact hinge on the idea of a human right and what are the universally accepted rights man should naturally possess) do extend into this website. While I will admit that the users have every right to punish me for my actions, that is based solely on their personal beliefs and bias, rather than anything I agreed to or anything truly just.

Failing to read a terms of service does not nullify it. It's the same as signing a contract you didn't read; You clicked the check box, and they have proof. You can't prove otherwise, metaphorically or legally.

Well, nothing good. At least, I would think. She freaked out (understandably). Alex... he was calm about it. Of which I'm two minds:

1.) He knows some secret to dealing with Slenderman that we don't. This topic has been hashed out before, whether it be the operator symbol, the masks, the cameras, whatever. I won't bring that all back here since it doesn't pertain to the entry.

2.) Slenderman was wiping the incident from Alex's memory as it was happening. While we haven't seen an example of this before, it's not that big of a stretch considering that he had Alex to a breaking point for a very long time. Catching him off guard like that could give Slenderman an advantage.

Here's my question though. I came in late in the original Marble Hornets game, some time around Entry 23. What exactly is Slenderman's MO in the series? To date, I think he's only hurt Alex once (Entry 14 where he entered his room), but other than that he's just screwed with them ever since. Showing up randomly, making doors go places they shouldn't, erasing memories, etc.
