Well, nothing good. At least, I would think. She freaked out (understandably). Alex... he was calm about it. Of which I'm two minds:

2.) Slenderman was wiping the incident from Alex's memory as it was happening. While we haven't seen an example of this before, it's not that big of a stretch considering that he had Alex to a breaking point for a very long time. Catching him off guard like that could give Slenderman an advantage.

Here's my question though. I came in late in the original Marble Hornets game, some time around Entry 23. What exactly is Slenderman's MO in the series? To date, I think he's only hurt Alex once (Entry 14 where he entered his room), but other than that he's just screwed with them ever since. Showing up randomly, making doors go places they shouldn't, erasing memories, etc.


Tardy to the party, but just caught up. That second theory there is absolutely TERRIFYING to me. I need to rewatch the entry, but if Alex's girlfriend was being attacked and Alex was simply wandering around doing his daily routine as if nothing was going on 150 feet from him, I will be thoroughly and completely CREEPED THE FUCK OUT. haha

 		I'm getting the feeling that the odd not-quite-music that we're hearing that we think is distortion is really just the AC running; I couldn't hear anything odd in that, though it does seem weird that it gets a bit louder when Jay focuses the camera on himself in the mirror.

I was thinking about that mention about how the process of viewing a person is grounds for distortion to occur, rather than the person throwing off distortion being the important factor. I feel that it has some merit in that the act of viewing the Operator leads to, apparently, insanity. On the other hand, merely being in his presence seems to have an effect on people, as well. It could just be that viewing Operator-affected people, places or things is a focusing of the fucked-up-ness that they already possess. (I'm not sure about the exact studies done in FOR SCIENCE, but the act of viewing a particle will affect its place etc.) --> TL;DR: The act of viewing the Operator funnels the side-effects to the viewer more quickly than just being in his presence; cameras have some ability to monitor this behavior with more precision, even when the Operator him/itself isn't around.

In regards to the blurring of the camera as Jay [s]gives up, throws in the towel, rolls over and dies[/s] sits on the bed, this sort of distortion I feel has been made use of in the past. We see it in #16 on Masky, in #17 on Tim, in #21 over the blueshoe-hole, in #22 and #23 in the basement and when Jay is teleporting rooms, and in #26 on the Operator himself. Nevermind the TTA responses for Warning and ######. Again, could just be the camera doing its business, but they seem to leave the blurring in at these moments on purpose, to me. Seems like a less obvious video tear moment.

With regards to the fact that the TV was bumpBUMPing, and with the video in total, I managed to catch a bit that isn't omg-mind-blowing, but helps to confirm the conversation about it being turned on and off. (The image is included as an attachment -- see below!)

In either case, Jay had been set to reboot on the 23rd, and so some time that morning, was going about his pre-boot routine, which involved using or keeping in use the items that we saw left on. Either he did this himself or he had a TTA handler to do it for him.

He probably laid down, was given the appropriate wake-up signal (which could have involved the telephone, television, and/or alarm in any mixture) and then we get to see the results.

I don't think that the Operator was in the room moments ago, I think that if it had to be anybody else, it would have been TTA. I do think that it's possible that Jay had been using TTA-style methods of madness, even if it's not a popular theory. I don't think that this discounts that the TTA we're familiar with is still around or was replaced in some way.

From here, I imagine that Jay will lay low and trip out on tryptophan for the weekend; reviewing the tapes seems likely, though I think that if Jay posts about them from the get-go, it will be in the manner of, "I've been looking through things. Surprise-surprise, looks like I've found something important to help me figure out what I've been doing for the last 7 months. Have a teaser."

Again, I don't think that TTA will necessarily be present in the present to goad Jay along. Not for the first few videos, anyways. We might be seeing hints of TTA here and there in the footage that Jay chooses to share. I'm guessing that he probably won't show up for a while in the present, if he is still around. It just seems like they're going to be building slowly on this.

Jay films #26 and heads out. He finds the destination of the return address, and discovers that Alex's house looks about as appetizing a place to live in as Brian's did. He probably gets to feel flashbacks while he investigates, and finds a clue or three as to what happened. Possible close brush with the Operator.

Jay continues to be on the move, and this may occur for several weeks as he orienteers his way through more than one pit-stop's worth of clues. The clues lead him to Alex (and possibly Amy, though I am guessing that she will have been cannon fodder 9_9 It may be a mini-low-point if he finds evidence of a killing, though!), which becomes a climactic high point -- a "WOOH, FINALLY MANAGED TO FIND YOU! 8D" (only in Jay-terms that would be, "(ten seconds of black screen)

which is quickly shattered. "You fucked up!"s get exchanged, but are put on hold when Alex and Jay realize that being in the same place at the same time is bad news for them as the Operator has them both in one place. They may work together for a period of time with what they know (what they've recovered from the Marble Hornets footage that Jay has uploaded, if they are having memory-gaps -- hee hee, workin' in the fact that the MH account has been signed into on a regular basis over the summer!) but are inevitably separated. Alex has probably passed on the strappy camera some time during their working together time, as a piece of equipment that he's learned has been invaluable.

Jay is on the run again; TTA comes out of the wood-works when he realizes that his efforts to achieve his goal of getting to the ark (whatever that entails!) were so close but not quite there. Either a confrontation occurs or a heel-face turn; Jay probably gleans more advice in either case which he experiments with putting into use. This leads to some trouble when he finds himself in more situations that are close calls. The most dangerous, imperiling close-call of all occurs and, again, Jay is put in a fugue state from which he awakes, seven months later.

Other characters (Tim/Seth/Sarah/Brian/???) may play a part either as getting a mention or showing up again... but I'm'a guess that the story's going to continue to revolve around Alex and Jay and their struggle with figuring out what the Operator is and how they can survive, this time around. Again, will Alex have survived? one of the main questions, most likely.

As for how I figure they're going to tell it, Entry by Entry... fucked if I know. XD Every time I think that I'm getting an idea of where they're going with this, something new and completely different comes up. I love that!

TL;DR: Really, it's all just TL;DR. Nothing to see here.
