Note the capitalization of "She". That's how much of a big deal Dray is.

 		No matter how awesome Dray is, it is important to keep the various threads on topic. Best to comment about how much we love Dray in the off topic thread.

Anyway, I wasn't going to comment on this guy's post, but I needed something on topic to make this post.

Then someone (Masky? Tim? Seth? TTA? Sarah? etc...) found him and got him to safety in a nearby hotel got him a room, set his stuff up, and let him drift off to sleep and wake up to entry #27.

The button cam was a security idea that Alex came up with so that they could always have an "eye" on what was going on.

And then the newbie realized how long his post was....


Main problem with this theory is that when he checked in with the hotel, they told him that he checked in for 1 night. This implies he was the one who checked in.

It may be that he found Alex, but it is unlikely that he was traveling with Alex within the last couple of weeks.

It is more likely that he checked in last night, put his room card and keys next to the TV, set up the tripod camera, looked over the days video footage, removed the top covers and placed them on the chair, then collapsed onto the bed exhausted (fully clothed). During the night he probably kicked off the rest of his covers.

My theory leaves a few holes. The TV, computer, alarm clock, and possibly the phone.

No idea what might have caused the TV to blink like that.

He might have been too tired to care to turn of his laptop and he had the screen saver disabled. Or he may not turn off his laptop unless he is in transit (this is supported as he left the laptop on when he went on his little drive).

As for the alarm clock, if he was exhausted, he might have just set it somewhere close to 8:30. Again, he may have been too tired to care.

As I stated earlier, it is possible that he took the phone off the hook at 1:25.

My theory of the preceding night is probable, however, it does not explain the TV. I expect an answer to that in a later entry.

 		I've been following this thread for a while and I decided to make an account to ask a question that I think is yet to be answered (or asked).

In the past 7 months, what has prevented Jay from uploading any further videos, or even tweeting? Does the lack of communique suggest that he was not near any computers, or that he was under some form of mind control? Did he stop updating in hopes that it would cause Slenderman to stop stalking him? The only one of these explanations that has me convinced is the mind control theory, which further corroborates the "Jay is a Masky" theory.

the video says that Jay found out that the room was "only booked for one night," not that he only booked it for one night.

I wasn't literally asking "why didn't he update"; obviously I know that there is a blank period in the past 7 months, but I think the fact that he didn't update anything at all during that period could narrow down the possibilities of what had happened in that time. From my perspective, there are three likely reasons for the lack of any sort of update.

1. Jay was not anywhere near a computer or could not find the time to make use of one. I find this unlikely as it is difficult to believe that he was without internet access for 7 months given that he just woke up in a hotel in a town.

2. Jay stopped posting updates because he did not want to attract Slenderman's attention. This is unlikely because he left claiming that he was going to search for Alex, which would have brought him into conflict with Slenderman anyway. Additionally, he'd already tried the "lay low" tactic and, well, it didn't quite pan out.

3. Jay did not have the mental capacity or the desire to update due to some sort of telepathic influence. This strikes me as the most likely as Slenderman has demonstrable influence on the minds of humans.

If I'm missing another option that is implied by the evidence we have so far, please point it out to me. So far, though, it seems to be plainly evident to me that Jay was in one way or another under The Operator's thrall for the past 7 months.

I suspect the role of the blinking TV was an indicator that something unusual happened at some time the night before. I mean, to be fair, we have a pretty clear indication that something did happen -- Jay did wake up the next morning without a memory, after all -- but the nature of the TV's issues might give us some form of clue that will become clearer with later entries. Electronic distortion, after all, has been tied to both Slenderman and Masky/TTA, though never explicitly a turning-on/turning-off repeated effect.

Could be that if TBG's theory works, Jay could have been separated from the others and on the run for a short bit before he was caught up with and wiped? Could be that Masky is really a fugue state of its own, if it turns out that WAKE UP came from himself.

He may have stopped posting for some time as he was probably busy figuring shit out, I'd imagine! Having adventures both great and small, and by that I mean a mix of running for his life and dealing with other characters. It's possible that he had found something that he didn't want to post, and after having his memory wiped, is about to reveal that and then go, "oh, shit." He didn't necessarily need to be mind-controlled the whole time! It could be that, while he had internet access, he chose not to post due to the fact that it was of lesser importance to whatever else he was doing.

Ahh, you know, you're right! I had kind of bypassed the idea of subtler narrative hints because I was busy thinking that this was all an establishing entry for the ambience of this chunk of videos! But of course it would stand to reason that the TV flicking on and off might be a signal. I just feel like it must have been something recent. I know that in the past we've seen Jay tweet that he was gone from a place for X number of hours before he woke up... but it always seems like we see distortion right around the same time that TTA and the Operator appear. There seem to be a few times when this isn't true, but in those places the distortion seems to be because they were filming in a place that the Operator had been extensively. Since Jay only booked the place for one night, it probably had to have been a visit imminently previous to his waking up.

Unless the rules have changed to some degree, which you just know they have! It could be that Jay's gotten enough doses of Slenderference in the past seven months that he's casting enough of it himself to keep the TV spazzing.

I dunno. The on/off tv just makes me think of the... the open banging window, or the door you lock before bed that you discover unlocked in the morning.

 		O_O Ah, and this is why it's cool to obsess over similar things at the same time: you bring up points I would've durped right over!

Myself, I just thought that the on/off tune of the TV was a cheesy heartbeat... and then got creeped the heck out when I realized that it was coming from somewhere IN the room. I was definitely waiting for Jay to get pounced and horribly mangled. (Where is that SA smiley of the face with the tiny hands over the mouth and the worried expression when you need it?) The fish-eye lens definitely added some serious vertigo... I know they're going to have fun using that camera, but I'm not looking forward to getting nauseous watching running or climbing or any activity with they film with it! (I already get scared enough just sitting and O_Oing at new videos for the first time!)

Anyways, getting back on topic!

If the rules have changed, then everything that we've been working on up until this point is a moot point. (WARFFLENARRRGH!) They may have shifted, but I think that the base rules are going to remain the same! Either the Operator or TTA were in the room, or Jay, like you say, was casting the interference. I vote someone else, but that's sort of arbitrary. Also, if the TV is fritzin', how come the laptop seems fine? (And oh, if only we could see the words on the screen. XD)

 		What if the tv wasn't turning on and off but instead playing a tape? B/c when Jay turns the tv off it neither looks or sound the same as when it "turned off" earlier.
