Well, I'm not sure that should apply in the off-topic thread.

Either way, Joseph posted this article on Cracked about Slender Man. I laughed entirely too hard at the Marble Hornets part.

And Slender Man still isn't as popular as fucking Fred.

In case you all are looking for something short to creep you out a bit, here's a short film I made for a filmmaking class at school this semester. It's my final film, and is pretty inspired by good ol' Marble Hornets (in fact, in the assignment I had to hand in about what inspired me, about half the stills I used were from Marble Hornets Embarassed ).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3nVN_wwxsU

It was shot on color negative film stock (woot shooting on film!) a few weeks ago, and I just finished up sound and getting back my color-corrected footage today, so I thought that the forums might be a good place to share it. Especially considering I've been sorta* absent the past week or two, and this is the reason why. Razz

If you watch, hope you enjoy! Very Happy

Sounds cool. I'll check it out when I can (I have crappy internet).

In any case, if you're here, you probably appricate the mind-fuckery and distortion featured heavily in MH, in that case I would recommend the Xbox game Breakdown.

It's an Xbox 1 exclusive, and is backwards compatable with the 360. A lot of times during the game, static-y fuzz will appear on the screen and start screwing with your vision. Sometimes, because of this, you'll appear in completely different locations (like suddenly being in a desert, when you were in a medical lab, and then you're back in the lab), and you see this cat that dissolves into the air.

So far, I'm assuming it's halluinations, but I'm not sure. Either way it's pretty cool and always reminds me of MH. I picked it up for about $5, and the game itself is fun as hell.

Very nice redherring, wish it went longer. Smile for the camera indeed haha

Aside from the (good) video, does anyone know what the moderators are up to? Everyone seems to be getting into "new thread hysteria"

Well, I will admit I was part of the problem, but there are some that aren't neccisary.

i.e. "Omg did u see that thing in 40" when there is clearly an Entry 40 thread."

I just didn't tell the difference between a valid thread and the other ones. I'll try to be more careful and open-minded from now on. Embarassed

The Star Tribune (a fairly large print newspaper) ran an article about Slender Man a week ago: http://www.startribune.com/lifestyle/120717934.html

I'm not sure I'd necessarily call Troy and Joseph "pranksters". Sounds a little demeaning.

Well, they /do/ have some comedy videos, don't they?

I'm more worried about them misreporting. "The Marble Hornets", for one, and Masky being another demon.

Someone mentioned very briefly in the Entry #40 thread that Troy and Joseph were planning a comedy series after Marble Hornets was over, but I never saw any official news about it. What's the word on that? (I mean, it wouldn't surprise me given Joseph once mentioning he would've rather done a comedy in the first place and all the silly stuff on Troy's YouTube page.)

I had a quick look on Google maps and found the location.
Just copy and paste this address into Google maps;

3025 County Road 87, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, United States.

Thanks! Didn't do a whole lot of searching earlier so sorry if it was posted already (I guess it must have been Rolling Eyes).

Ugh, can we please bump up the relevant threads? This is making my head hurt.

I've got a better idea: Instead of senseless bumping, can we get quality discussion posted on them?

Well, obviously. That's why I only bumped the off topic thread.
