I glanced at the Core Theory stuff and quickly looked away. I curse the ghost of Joseph Campbell and all the depredations he wrought on speculative fiction.

So all that's a roundabout way of making another request for a summary of what happened on the 23rd.

As mentioned MH came back. There where two tweets essentially letting us know Jay's back then around 12 ish they posted Entry 27.

Is that all? It sounded like Das Omega was saying there was some massive cross-blog even as well.

Nothing like that. There was an explosion of blog activity due to MH starting up again, though

What? No, there really was a massive cross-blog event, unrelated to MH. It started when Zero in A Hint of Serendipity got attacked by a proxy; then Nessa in Enter Light go attacked by a massive group of proxies, and became hallowed. Some characters decided to go rescue her, and then Fizzbomb from Para-Not-So-Normal and Will from Paranormal Log both were attacked by proxies as well. Robert in White Elephants was captured, and Amelia in Road to the Heavens was forced to go on the run due to being attacked by proxies. Eventually Nessa was de-hallowed (somehow; I lost track in the HUNDREDS of comments that were being posted across all the different blogs), and gained magical voice powers, but then was recaptured and re-hallowed. Will was captured by proxies, who started posting gamejacking stuff on every single blog he could find, but Will escaped after killing the proxy that had captured him. Jean from Vivere Disce decided to go and try to physically rescue Nessa, but spacetime on the road she was driving on got screwed up, causing her to be traveling in a loop, until she broke out by having to walk off the road back home on foot. After going through another zombie apocalypse style proxy attack, Fizzbomb captured the hallowed Nessa, and things started to calm down.

At least, that's what I think happened. Events were being posted left and right on so many blogs, each with dozens of comments on it, that I really had a hard time catching up. I might have missed some stuff.

Then I retract my statement. I apologize for any misinformation

Yeah, it was more a case of things spiraling WAY out of control than a response to MH. Some people started posting that they were being attacked, then others jumped on the bandwagon and said they were also being attacked, then a few of the blogs started to all try and one up each other, until all sense of a cohesive plot or story was lost.

She gained the ability to command proxies. With her voice.

Looking at the blogs now, it's starting to look like some people are retconning the events of that night into something more sensible; for examples, Fizzbomb has changed the massive proxy horde she had a huge gunfight with to Slender Man screwing with her head to make her think she was under attack.

I hear Magical Voice Powers and I think of the Voices from Condemned.

And this is why I stick to EMH and MH. Voice powers? really?

Not to mention the core theory/hollowing isn't really my cup of tea.

Again, one blog does not represent all blogs.

And yes, some of them are jumping off the Core Theory boat for obvious reasons.

EDIT: In fact, White Elephants, which created the Core Theory, has deleted almost all of its previous entries. So, all of the info ON the Core Theory is essentially gone.

Interestingly (I think it was actually you who pointed this out to me, but I see it now) Robert from White Elephants - who IIRC started the whole Core Theory thing - seemed to have used the chaos to try and retcon away the Core Theory itself. On his blog there was a post from a Hallowed saying that when Robert thought he'd gone to the mystical other-realm to become the magical Guardian of time and space, he'd actually been spending his time rocking back and forth in an electrical substation drooling and posting crap from his iPhone.

This is exactly why I've chosen this time to totally redirect the course of Testing into a much more engaging, much cooler story arc-- I really hope those of you turned off by the Core Theory stuff will follow and enjoy what Im doing. As a writer, that's about all I strive for; audience enjoyment of the story. Very Happy

That said, I really don't like where a lot of the other blogs are headed. It's just gotten...all across the board. So much so that it makes it impossible to keep up-- and even when you can, you feel like you don't want to.

Well, the Core Theory blogs seem to be drastically changing direction. The White Elephants blog deleted the CT information, and then Zero made a post trying to get people to pull back on the insanity. Lots of the CT blogs have been deleted, or changed their tones from "Hell yeah guys, we can do this if we all work together and believe!" to the more traditional "Oh my god, there is a faceless monster coming to kill us all!"
