I just spent about an hour on the phone with my friend trying to explain to him how to send the contents of the cd to me; it didn't work out - he couldn't (for some reason) operate the folders, and just kept sending me shorcuts to the folder names. The only file - the note - that was not in a folder - got through. (Btw, now I think he is even more pissed, but I'm still meeting him tomorrow or Monday). So, the note looks the same, and I bet the other files are too.
trip, I asked him (just for you ) how the stuff was glued etc. He said the envelope (padded, yellow) was attached to the bottom of that counter with clear packing tape, sealed with the same kind of tape, and "Emerson" was written on it (cd) with a black marker.
When I get the cd, I'll take a photo, and I'll upload the files, though they are most likely to be the same as the previous ones at this point.

hi all,
I'm currently studying at Cornell. I'll look up the copies of The Hidden Dimension tomorrow to see if they contain anything.

Multisession CD Someone should check the the cd for previous sessions. (The cd-writer programs usually shows the previous sessions if you choose to continue multisession disk)
If the cd is a multisession cd then there could be files which has been removed from the last session. Maybe there's a way to access them...

For those of you new to ARG. These "real world" clues are often distributed in duplicate to allow more than one person to participate, and to increase the chance that every "group" playing has the opportunity to obtain the same information and continue the game.
Chances are strong that 1) another "group" found the Santa Monica clue, or (more likely, since I grew up in that neighborhood) 2) someone who is NOT in the game found it, thinking it was valuable or had some money in it.
The important thing is the need to SHARE the files with other players. The CD files should be posted for others to read, download, decode, or view.
And those who did find them, congratulations on obtaining a cool souvenier of the ARG (perhaps your first of many ARGs).

Trip FTP'ed the files on the Chicago CD over to http://metacortex.netninja.com/ethan/chicago/ and enaxor posted the individual files on the Portland CD to this thread . They are being shared--it is just a question of whether people outside the Unforum groups know this to be the case.

Btw, the note.jpg most likely implies the fact the CD's are all the same, because it says "I need about a dozen disks".
It seems the person who made the discs was given an envelop with stuff in it (the pictures, legal docs and the note). This person would also be the one who only scanned three of these twenty mentioned legal docs. Is it safe to say these are still somewhere then? We saw that Phillip Gairden went somewhere and took pictures of a heap of (legal) documents. Could these be the (same!) missing documents?

This is one Amazon customer's review of The Hidden Dimension:
Quote:
Edward T. Hall's The Hidden Dimension, perhaps the scariest book (even scarier than 1984) I ever read. Scary, because it isn't fiction, but a rather elaborate essay on anthropology and proxemic behaviour. If Hall's right, things as disregard for other cultures, mindless urban development and demographic growth have generated a behavioral sink in which stress, crime, intolerance and physical and psychic disease grow everyday, and to make things worse, our governments take measures that only accelerate the process. We are all going down the drain.

The Emerson CD found at Cornell did not have any wrapped packaging. It was inside a slim blue cd-case, sitting between copy #2 and copy #3 of The Hidden Dimension. I'll probably go back tomorrow with a digital camera to take photos of location and see if there are anymore clues.
Attached is a scan of the Emerson cd frontside.
