Chicago Screening Anyone going to the Norelco event? I am driving 3.5 hrs with my oldest to attend the event. Leaving at around 12:30 to be there about 4-4:30 I would guess, probably closer to 5. Gonna be cold and I was wondering if anyone else is going to be there. Be nice to place some faces from this forum!

My brother and I will be driving up from Omaha for it. Plan on leaving here at about 5am to get there as early as possible. (It's about a 6-7 hour drive.) Going to call the theater Monday morning to find out how early they are going to let us line up.
I think smashdaisaku is also going to be there.

Wow!! And I thought I was dedicated driving 3.5 hrs! You guys rock!!
Post up what you find out about the line up time!
FYI, I will be the one in the green field jacket with a knit mohawk hat.
Be there or be square!

As of right now, neither my brother or I are using our plus 1's so we should be able to get someone in. But since it says on the voucher that you exchange the voucher for tickets, you'd have to be there when we get there and we plan on getting there VERY early.

Wow, that's coming a long way!
I'm trying to decide between the Norelco screening and the "Flynn Lives" screening. I haven't been to that particular ICON theater before but I really dislike the whole restaurant x movie theater idea. Especially for something like this; the experience the first time HAS to be as good as you can make it! I thought about suggesting that if there are a fair number of people from here going, that a contingent checks to see if anyone's at the other screening... very torn between quality vs. possible FL swag divided by likelihood of getting in. Certainly a plus to be at the one uF folks are going to.
I'm a Chicago local, though I live in the burbs, so I'll be aiming to be downtown as early as I can... and will definitely be at one of the two screenings.

I was torn by this too, but I decided they most likely will not be giving out FL swag as it is open to anyone. So I just went with the Norelco Screening as it is in IMAX and I at least have voucher to get in

Yeah, I decided on the Norelco one due to the IMAX factor as well as the fact that if there IS Flynn Lives swag at the other screenings, since it is open to anyone, so much of that stuff is going to end up on eBay that it will most likely be pretty easy to score later on. I've been waiting for this flick for so long that seeing it in the best possible circumstances means more to me than a shirt or pin.

Wish I could join you all, but if anyone will be at the midnight Navy Pier IMAX, I'll be there. Burned my last vacation day of the year for the Digital Pulse event, so there's no way I can get down in time for any of the other stuff on Monday.
Definitely post your impressions here. The Norelco event with the actors sounds kinda cool.

I know this is a bit off topic from flynn lives but as I was surfing the unfiction fourms tonight I found a possible trailhead taking place in chicago for what I have no idea. Its under news and rumors entitled garrison medill for mayor. I'm not sure if it's still in play or what but might be something to check out since the flynn lives run is coming to an end. Let me know what you think.

It looks like I won't be using the guest part of my pass on Monday night. So if anyone has another person they want to get into the Navy Pier showing, let me know.

Trying to prepare for this with my son... Is there anywhere to line up inside, or is this an outside waiting affair? Need to know if we need to bring extra clothes.

Navy Pier is mainly indoors. There is plenty of room to hang out inside near the theater. I have no idea where they will be forming the line, but I plan to stay inside near the theater unless they force me to line up outside.
I am coming via public transportation and am just planning to have a long sleeve shirt, a hoodie, and a big warm parka (for when I do have to wander outside as it is supposed to be super windy and have a negative wind chill out tomorrow).
Hope this helps.
