Ha ha. That's Roy from The Office in the profile picture.

I can't tell if we're missing something or if the PM is REALLY building up story/characters before moving things forward. Confused

Recap: the trail so far...
Progress and unsolved puzzles

I'm including a Recap text file, mainly so I can keep track of where we are so far... sharing it in case anyone else is interested.

Puzzles unsolved so far:

French missing letters
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
UOMORIOL
Possible Anagram anyone?

"We Wear the Mask" poem letter substitutions.

People so far:
LD: Logan Darrington, just call her D
Nigel Hemingway: the spiller of drinks
Shadow: mysterious emailer, supplier of Twitter info, sender of cryptic notes and pictures.

If I have missed anything people feel is important let me know.

Just noticed that in my dealings with D, she doesn't using gender to describe the person so obviously she's remaining gender-neutral.

I looked at anagrams for both French and English and nothing jumped out that made sense. I could totally be missing it though.

The only thing I can see is "I Loom Our."

Nice recap, by the way.

Well it appears "Shadow" only comes out while D is asleep. As of now, D is not planning on sleeping tonight. She intends to wait for her mysterious stalker to show up. So either we won't get an email from Shadow tonight, or she falls asleep at some point.

I did recommend at one point that D ought to pick up some cheap spy equipment from Toys R Us (Come on. Don't tell me you've never wanted those cool lazer tripwire alarm things as a kid. I like to live vicariously through other's ARG characters. Razz), but, alas, that was around the point where D stopped talking to me (Probably because I'm an idiot. Very Happy), although Shadow hasn't.

The only other thing I can think of is that it is an unusual proper name rather than a regular word. Unless we will need them later for something.

The gender neutral thing could be just a safety measure. Women and children are targetted more often by stalkers.

So apparently D emailed herself. Or, this Shadow person emailed her using her own account. She forwarded it to me:

Quote:
I wake and feel the fell of dark, not day.
What hours, O what black hours we have spent
This night! what sigh
ts you, heart, saw; ways you went!
And more must, in yet longer light's delay.

Gyda dyst wyf yn siarad hwn. Ond lle rwy'n dweud
Oriau Yr wyf yn golygu y blynyddoedd, yn golygu bywyd. Ac yn fy gresynu at
A yw di-ri crio, crio fel llythyrau marw

The poem is by Gerard Manley Hopkins and here's the rest:
Quote:
I WAKE and feel the fell of dark, not day.
What hours, O what black hoürs we have spent
This night! what sights you, heart, saw; ways you went!
And more must, in yet longer light's delay.
With witness I speak this. But where I say
Hours I mean years, mean life. And my lament
Is cries countless, cries like dead letters sent
To dearest him that lives alas! away.

I am gall, I am heartburn. God's most deep decree
Bitter would have me taste: my taste was me;
Bones built in me, flesh filled, blood brimmed the curse.
Selfyeast of spirit a dull dough sours. I see
The lost are like this, and their scourge to be
As I am mine, their sweating selves; but worse.

I worked on the last part of the email for a bit and haven't been able to figure it out. It's not Rot, it's not another language. I thought it may be a substitution cypher but some of the letters don't make sense in English. "Y" is used a lot and by itself so it should be an I or A but then some of the other words don't work. I dunno, I'm still working on it but I wanted to throw it out there to see if someone else wanted to give it a try as well.

This is Welsh. According to Google Translator, it says:

Quote:
With witness I speak this. But where I say
Hours I mean years, mean life. And my lament
Are countless crying, crying as dead letters

But then again, lol online translators.

Ha. Oops.

Looks like Nigel got an email from Shadow:
Quote:
Sombrías figuras de baile en punto, pero el escocés no. Mi cara es la sombra. Mensaje yo en el lugar de la g

Which translates to:
Quote:
Shadowy figures dancing on point, but the Scotsman. My face is shaded. Message me in the place of the g

*sigh* This dude loves poetry.

And apparently our lady is now on the phone with Nigel...

You using Google Translate for that? That doesn't sound right. Give me a bit.

Meh... Close enough. His Spanish still isn't very good. Razz

Is this referring to ROT-2?
