OK. I'm IN. Has anyone thought seriously of having a Team B in North Beach near City Lights?

I'm gonna leave the 510 tomorrow around 6 am to allow for Commute in the Rain Madness and head to 3rd and Market unless we decide to have two groups. Anyone?

OH, and that's NOT me in my Avatar. That's Nikki Sixx. Just sayin'.

I think that would be a good idea!
So one team can meet at the 3rd and Market street starbucks and the other somewhere in North Beach?
What do you guys think?

I've been planning on going to City Lights personally, I think everyone else is meeting at the Metreon. Maj Daftleg mentioned he lives in/near Chinatown but didn't specify his exact plans.

I'll be using our Twitter feed to update everyone if I find anything.

That's where I think I am going to head. I know SF very well, and will have a car. So far I am transporting two people around. Do any of you locals know what early morning street parking is like in North Beach?

845 pm EDIT: I will be meeting up with you guys at 3rd and Market. Gonna bring the Blazer so I will have new tires, and more engine power for the hills. Can carry five in that easily. See you tomorrow!

From being down there randomly at around 10am parking is usually awful and i dont know of any parking structures/lots in the area.

from http://www.citylights.com/info/?fa=map
Public garages located nearby at Portsmouth Square Garage, 733 Kearny St. (between Washington and Clay) and North Beach Garage, 735 Vallejo St. (between Stockton and Powell).

I'm thinking more City Lights to be honest, it would be MUCH easier to go from city lights to union square/metreon as parking is everywhere near Market than vice versa.

Those going to City Lights want to meet up outside of the store at around 7:30ish? There's a million coffee shops nearby that we could jack wifi from.

I would suggest hanging out around the corner til the site updates. If that's indeed where it's happening, everyone glopped around the bookstore ahead of time might interfere if 42E needs to swing by and post that sticker or something.

While I live close by, I have no coffee shop knowledge of that area. I'll leave one that up to you guys.

Why dont we all meet at the square cross from city lights, the one with hanging books on the telephone wires?

See you guys there!

Nope, like I said, I'll be at City Lights.

We still don't have anyone that's going to be at a proper computer to help us monitor the web and these boards. Any ideas?

I'm stealing my girlfriends hilariously pink netbook and the sheer number of coffee shops in northbeach should set us up pretty well, but if not we can always tether someone's google phone to it too.

Do you know where the square is right across from city lights? where the books are on the telephone chords and words are all over the ground? That's where i think i'll chill out and meet anyone coming. Then we can go to a coffee shop and watch.

Yea, that's a good spot.

I'm not sure we need to go to a coffee shop though. I have an Android phone so the FL site works fine on there.

I'm leaning towards calling in sick that day to partake in this event. The thing is, I absolutely hate driving in the city. If my gf and I BART into the city, is there any chance we can link up with some of you fine folks? I'd be willing to split any parking bills, and can give some gas money. There's also a few elecTRONica tokens in it for you as well!

I'll also point out, that despite living in the Bay Area my entire life, I don't know my way around the city.

I would be able to drive you two around the city if we need to drive anywhere, and 3rd and market starbucks sounds good but i'm still thinking that city lights makes the most sense

OT: How do you like your mini? I'm in the market for a good used Mini S automatic because my Volve S60R is so huge lol.

I LOVE it! Mine's not an S, but it's still sooooo much fun to drive! Kind of a bummer that it doesn't fit too many people comfortably, but I don't usually drive too many others around anyways haha. But I do highly recommend Minis

And yes, I'll be at Starbucks by 7:30.

That sounds awesome, i'm definitely leaning on getting on within the next 6 months

I'll be there around 7:00-7:30 for the meet up, i'll be wearing jeans and a black pea-coat. Names Patrick, i'm 21. My girlfriend is bailing on me to go to a doctors appointment so i'll have 4 spots in my car if they're needed!

Nice to meet you Patrick! My gf and I should be out there around 7:30-7:45. Just so I'm clear, is this the Starbucks near the Metreon that we are meeting at? I'll be wearing my ElecTRONica sweater, and Flynn Lives shirt.
