Stateside just posting here, but I have to check...are you sure you can find any places in London that were around in '89? I mean, that's a LOOONG time ago, mates.
/just a Yank ribbing you, here's to hoping they deal you in.

Madopal may have a point there, I think the only one of the big bookshops that's still in the same location as it was in 1989 is the Foyles on Charing Cross Road.

Hmmm... interesting.
Does anyone else think the first "breadcrumb" will be a sticker on a lamppost near the location? Then, onwards to the next clue?
Who will actually be participating in the London event? Maybe we ought to give each other our contact details (or is it every man for themselves?!!) - so that we can help out anyone who is late and needs to skip a "crumb"?

I've got your number (118!) - I'm sort of expecting this to be like the WSS event where we had to run around finding clues to put into a safe online, so yeah, if that's the case and people are late, then lets stay in touch!

I'm definitely up for having a go at this, and would be glad to pass on clues to latecomers, but have never done anything of the sort before so dunno how much use I'll be..

Cool! The more the merrier!
Don't really know what to expect from this puzzle - but I guess that's part of the excitement!

There a few book shops on the Charing Cross Road, and a couple on Tottenham Court Road/Shaftesbury Avenue, that have been there for donkeys years.
...but they're all about the size of a shoebox.

Yeah - I know the area quite well - those book shops are very small. However, the book shop can be small - as I believe that the first clue will be on a sticker on a lamppost near the shop (like ISOlatedThinker's image)...
Do we have any "operators" to call in case we get stuck?!

I have a guy who's willing to be our operator, I'll have him on standby tomorrow at 4pm, although I have this feeling that the cities are gonna "go live" in phases like they did with Zero Hour - the flyer names LA, NY, SF and Chicago, so I wonder if they'll be the first phase, and then London an hour or two later? This is all on the assumption that London is involved, of course.

Cool. Yeah, I'm hoping that London is on the list. It seems a little odd that "they" haven't given a list of the cities involved - don't understand why this hasn't been done.

As much as i'd like to go, its too little information too late for a 65 mile journey to London, plus i cant really take the day off work at such short notice on the off chance London is included tomorrow. I really dont understand why the list of cities involved isnt up yet
I have a feeling the end result will be seeing the film for free that evening or soon after.
I hope you have a great day guys...providing London is included.
And remember...wrap up warm
