Peoria guy here. My name's Bryan. Frankie Frisk is the DJ name that I go by (which is also my FL account). Thanks so much for the book, man. I should be packing my stuff and heading out, but I thought I'd check on here first. I'll post more detailed pictures when I get off work tonight, which reminds me....I have to go to work!

Thanks again, everybody. It was awesome meeting you guys and I hope today won't be the last that I see of you all!

Sure,Bruce, snake it from us. Wink In all seriousness, massive props to Bruce for divvying the swag amongs those who showed. Truly a generous move.

My bookstore strategy backfired, but the group split almost paid off, as Smash missed the drop by seconds. Will post pictures when I get home. Even though we weren't successful,I was very proud to be a part of today.

Now as long as there's no reward for all the achievements, I won't be too bummed.

My recollection of the events

Ok, so Chicago went live. Picture was obvious. We had split into 3 teams to try and better cover the area. I ran like a bat out of hell to get from the Harold Washington Library to Madison & the Chicago River.

When I got there, Bruce was already showing off the package, and Smash/Wipple were closest, and they were standing there with a few other onlookers in Tron garb. There was also a cameraman. The Dumont Shipping guy had covered back up because it's too cold to just wear a Dumont work shirt.

Anyway, Bruce then got a call back about what to do next. He was then asked about who was there, and he went around asking for FL logins. We gave as many as we could get in there, but we may have forgotten some of you support folks. Our mistake.

Then, we walked over to the nearest Starbucks, about a block along the river. Inside was a FL operative in a FL shirt. He had a laptop. Bruce was then instructed to solve the puzzle and enter the code on the laptop.

One of the pages in the book had some squares cut out, and all the squares were connected with a line, a la Circuit Cycles. After some messing around with the Tron instruction pages, we found one that showed 7 digits, and the prompt on the laptop asked for 7 digits.

We entered the code, and after a brief pause, the code was accepted. The FL operative then gave Bruce a FL shirt and the FL pin.

We then hung out outside, and Bruce graciously gave away a bunch of the stuff.

My opinions on the swag: the book isn't all that. It's not a real book. It was hollowed out, and it had one page glued into the bottom. It's nice, but not some amazing piece of swag. The only real work was in the dust jacket, and it wasn't well printed. The FL pin is really nice, though, and I'm suspecting those are in the future. They can't have just made 16 of those. Everything else (envelope, shipping manifest, Tron manual pages) were pretty standard. The FL shirt was what it was.

The end. Thanks for all the online support, folks. Let's finish this.

PS: I have pictures, but my desktop is borked with the latest kernel update. I'm trying to resurrect to get up. Will post soon.

Thanks for the write-up, madopal. I've been following a lot of the other threads and I have to say...

You stayed classy, Chicago. You stayed hella classy.
