Well, that gives us a good base of connection to Redland, since the fictional area seems to be geographically close to Seattle (espescially if it's a knock-off of Redmond).

Perhaps the man in the photograph is older than I thought.

Gas Works Park, Seattle, Washington.

[EDIT: Here's something interesting. There appears to be a letterbox hidden in the park. See http://www.letterboxing.org/BoxView.asp?boxnum=4504&boxname=Gas_Works_Park for details.]

Still catching up, but one tiny thing I've not seen mentioned yet.

"lk wa house.jpg" - Leo Kane's house in WA?

It's either a diner or a subway station, I can't tell which.
The first thing this looked like to me was a market.

EDIT: The Leo Kane thing WAS previously mentioned by Tobester. Sorry about that.

I don't know if this is important or not, but has anyone else noticed something missing from the gasworks photo?

Look at this site for Seattle.
http://www.cityofseattle.net/

The Space Needle is missing... Gasworks park is supposed to be the #3 spot to see the Space Needle.

First, realize that there is a "no tresspassing" photo in there. So this links the photographer to Katgirl.

Then, we have a picture of the photographer being, possibly, taken over by an agent.

Also note the No Trespassing has a legal statute listed RCW 9A.52.070, which looks to be a Washington state law.

Ok, I looked around a little more at the City of Seattle site I just mentioned and found these photos. It's from Pike Place Market.

http://www.ci.seattle.wa.us/tour/HistoricDistricts/market/main.jpg
http://www.ci.seattle.wa.us/tour/HistoricDistricts/market/north.jpg

Notice the lights, the tiles on the ground. To me it really looks the same. Pike Place Market is a pretty big place according to this map
http://www.ci.seattle.wa.us/tour/HistoricDistricts/market/map.jpg
so it could be anywhere inside the market.

From the angle the picture is taken you wouldn't be able to see the Space Needle anyway.

Hrmn, maybe someone should go check that letterbox out? Seems like the photograph of the park might be pointing to something like it...

As for it being leo kane's house, that's a pretty good assumption judging from the abbreviations. However I've noticed that the "folder" that those files were under is labled 'personal'.

Now from what is suspected, we've seen multiple passports, hawaii flight documents, documents addressed to Arnold Queinten Neihoffer, and letters to Wongmo in the drawer and trash bin of Phillip Gairden. Also, a piece of paper with the name "Mr Le--" on it.

With the four passports, and the info gathered, it is entirely possible that Phillip has the following aliases:

Phillip Gairden
Leo Kane
Wongmo
Arnold Queinten Neihoffer

That'd cover the four passports too. Now if he has a house in Washington, it's probably his main office of operation. Wongmo's "sabbaticals" are probably when Mr.Kane takes a trip back to the continental states, and since nobody has heard from Phillip in a while, and Wongmo is now back at his offices, it leads one to believe that Clark Kent is indeed superman.

Er. Wait. It leads people to believe this guy has four lives.

So, the house seen, if Leo's, also belongs to three other major players in our story.

Edit-

Yeah, it looks like our photo is definitely in that market area. Those pillars are identical, as well as the cobble flooring.

City Fish Building at Pike Place Market, Seattle

Right again, Marl64! Wow, those Seattle Municipal Archives are useful. I think it is the City Fish building at the Pike Place Market in Seattle. Here's a couple of images for comparison purposes:

Note the distinct columns and lighting. I'm still looking for a better photo to be sure ... but it's promising.

(Dang Primal beat me to it ... well, more pictures ... and he has another building with similar columns but not the same ... somewhere in Pike Place I guess)

[EDIT: Oops. make that Pike and not Pikes ... sorry Marl64 ... still just as funny though]

Did I mention there is a little hair stuck to the envelope? It is half grey and half black. I'm a little hair phobic, so it's kinda gross, but still I thought it was funny. I'm sure it isn't a clue, but if necessary we could do DNA testing and track down the PMs! Anyone have one of those DNA testing thingies?

Also, in regards to it having been left there in January (or not) I can say this - the guy had the envelope VERY accessible. It was basically right on the shelf under the cash register. If it had been sitting there a year, I would suspect it would be hidden away somewhere under some junk in a file. Or it would be dustier (it was very clean, though it was wrinkly as if it had been mailed).

Another interesting thing, that I'm sure isn't a clue as well, is that the envelope appears to have had some mailing stickers on it, but they have been ripped off, tearing away some of the outside of the envelope. In other words, there are three squares on the front of the envelope where the outside has been ripped off a little bit. In one tiny spot, you can still see a little piece of white paper (from the mailing label) glued to the area.

I will try to get pictures of it for your enjoyment, but it will probably take me a day or so.

You've got to be kidding, a fish building in "Pikes Place" (Pike, plaice) Rolling Eyes
If that was an in game reference, no one would take it seriously Very Happy

What next?, someone links this to Katgirl via the "no trespassing" and we end up with something to do with catfish Laughing

If it's possible, a scan of the envelope and CD would be great - it would give us a chance to compare handwritings.

Oh and another thing to check out. Is the CD multisession? Probably not but worth asking I think, in case there's anything extra in a previous session.

How do I determine that?

I can tell you that the brand of the CDis "imation". CD-R, 700MB/80MIN, Compact disc recordable (logo).

The disc number is 5121FH081LH 3574 D3 if anyone cares (certainly not a clue).
